>...he was going to give things back to the people and what exactly he was giving back?

Jobs. Money back from ObamaCare premiums. Lower taxes for small businesses. Voice heard. Concerns for security heard.

And how is that coming along?

>I really don't understand how [people] could possibly not see through all that smoke.

But they did see through all the smoke that CNN was blowing, and that's why they voted for Trump.

Maybe it's you who can not see through the smoke that CNN is blowing?...

When the world doesn't make sense, is the whole world wrong? Or maybe you are wrong?...

> When the world doesn't make sense, is the whole world wrong?

Given Trump's global popularity rating, this is probably not the argument you want to use to defend him.

>Regardless, we have surveys showing the opinions of non-voters and Trump, at least a couple weeks ago, was at record levels of unpopularity among Presidents-elect.

They should have voted then. They didn't vote, and when the guy they don't like get voted into office, they get all angry. Well, they should have voted.

>...elected officials are compelled to and do respect the opinions of voters.

Trump does. He's going to implement his policies, since the voters have voted him to do so.

> They should have voted then.

They did. First, Trump was behind the leading better by an historic margin for a candidate that won the electoral vote. And, second, Trump's popularity has fallen since the election.

In any case, your implict idea that public-to-elected-official interaction is limited to elections is contrary to the founding principles of this country.

> Trump does. He's going to implement his policies, since the voters have voted him to do so.

All voters have influence, not just the ones who voted for you and not just for one Tuesday every four years. He's the President of all Americans, not just Trump supporters.

>They even released the video to prove it.

Very misleading video. That video doesn't show the whole day.

Here is a picture showing the crowds later in the day.

That video only show earlier in the day, before people started filling it up, as indicated by the time-stamp here...

Here's a photo closer to the end, showing the crowds goes all the way to the back, almost comparable to Obama's.

>Fox News has been doing the fake/biased news thing for a long time...

It's ironic that Fox news was so biased before. But this election, Fox News did good. Fox was the only news media that actually show both sides of the story, while the rest of the news media were overwhelmingly biased against Trump.

The front low-angle picture is the one Trump fans use to "disprove" the story. Its angle hides the swaths of empty space that were filled during Obama's first inauguration. Not to mention that the low-angle front picture obscures the Obama 2009 crowd spilling out the sides.

The picture you linked was taken earlier in the day, but is not the one used in the comparisons on news sites. That picture was taken around the time the Obama 2009 one was taken and shows Trump's crowd slightly more filled in: http://i.imgur.com/17nLdRl.jpg

Obama's inauguration broke all records and Trump's didn't come close. The scary point is that Trump felt the need to lie about it. They even admitted it with their "alternative facts" line. Openly lying about things that are demonstrably false is his way of distracting from other issues.

Your photo showing Trump had little people actually came from 8 AM in the morning, as by the upload time-stamp here:

http://imgur.com/cLiofdu

Notice the time-stamp.

The following photo show way more people: https://i.redd.it/romblz2zsxay.jpg

Here is a photo showing near back end, showing the crowds goes all the way to the back, almost comparable to Obama's.

Incorrect. Compare it to your 8am photo and it is much more filled in. Please post another rear image from the Washington monument to properly compare the two. Or keep posting low-angle front-shot photos to fit your personal narrative.

>You can watch a timelapse of the whole inauguration.

>What has he promised...

Repeal ObamaCare.

>...and how could it work?

I no longer have to pay $1,000 monthly premium for a health care package I can't even use.

You mean the Affordable Care Act, the one that, once repealed, will put dozens of Americans I know into serious mortal peril?

Sounds great. Glad you're saving a bit of money.

Also what the hell are you paying $1,000 a month for? If that isn't an argument for Medicare for everyone I don't know what is.

>You mean the Affordable Care Act, the one that, once repealed, will put dozens of Americans I know into serious mortal peril?

But if not repeal, will leave me homeless, since I won't be able to pay the mortgage bill anymore.

Why do your friends get priority over me? Why do I have to lose my house so your friends can have health care? What about me? What about all those other people, left behind by Obama's presidency?

Well, we at least know what they did. They voted for Trump.

>So if your child isn't as promising as others, oh well, they'll get to go to a "lesser" school.

Get rid of Common Core. Force schools to compete. Now, every schools will have to teach their students better.

"Force schools to compete" I don't think this is it.

'Competition' is definitely not the right word for education.

The best education systems in the world: S. Korea, Finland - are not competitive in the least.

If you have good students (re: good parents), decent teachers, a classroom, textbooks and a chalkboard - you're going to get a good education.

The 'choice' issue I think is important when it comes to alternative and special interest schools - in particular those in hard-up places: they have Charter Schools with very special types of programs geared towards kids from rougher districts etc.. Or maybe an ethnic/religious slant i.e. 'Ukranian school' or 'Catholic School' - neither of which would be entirely different from a public school, other than at a 'Catholic' or 'Ukranian' school there would be a 'Christmas Concert' instead of a 'Winter Concert'. But still, culture is important.

Forcing schools into heavy competition I think will just have them focus on the wrong things, marketing themselves, inflating numbers, managing perception - and that's wasteful.

And as long as the 'common core' is not too onerous - I think it's probably ok as well. I mean, who'd be against basic reading, writing and arithmetic?

>who'd be against basic reading, writing and arithmetic?

No one's against it. In fact, we can do better than Common Core. We can do better than just the basics.

Trump hates PC language. Trump is not about to let corrupt politicians redefine mundane things as "National Security".

Who knows if you'll be right or everyone else will be right. We'll have to wait 4 years and see if Trump comes through with his promises.

Right now, you're acting like you're the only that is right and everyone is too stupid. You're acting very smug, the same smug that lost Hillary the election.

>...he has been so slippery on many issues and... stand for and against something at the same time.

Because ObamaCare is not 100 percent all bad or 100 percent all good.

Trump, like everyone, is allow to like the good part of ObamaCare and hate the bad part of it.
