> It would not be possible with an educated electorate.
A free and impartial press is vital for democracy to work (how else do you know who to vote for). However the current state of American news media leaves a lot to be desired..... Abandonment of the broadcast media 'fairness doctrine' for one thing.
The problem with this situation in USA is not quite only because of media. Why did Congress instantly caved under the threat and even imposed a self censorship on itself to prevent any minority dissent (the case of "let's make whole year 2025 a single legal day, to prevent opposition vote" a year ago). It's because they are afraid to not be elected under threat of MAGA. And why is that? Because the election system is very not democratic in the USA. First past the post is already very bad system. No alternative parties, no open election lists, a huge legal lobbying/bribing allowed preventing electing independents. Etc. So the top commenter is right - democracy or even a semblance of one would have mitigated this disaster a lot, by protecting "checks and balanced" from being dismantled by a dictator.
> Does keeping Iran from having Nuclear weapons make sense
Why do (some!) Americans insist on believing Iran was going to obtain nuclear weapons? Netanyahu is repeating the line "Iran will have a nuke in 2 months" for 30 years. American intelligence also showed that Iran was nowhere near building a nuclear weapon.
Frankly, a better question would be to ask why Mango Mussolini tore up the 2016 Iran Nuclear deal (JCPOA).... most likely because it was made by his predecessor.
The fact that Iran themselves admitted it, and so has the IAEA. You can hate on Trump all you want but this is without dispute. If they weren't trying so hard to create nuclear weapons, they'd surely agree not to.
I notice no one addressed the issue of them killing 40,000+ of their own citizens.
Iran is a sovereign nation. Many such are killing tons of their civilians. South Sudan comes to mind instantly. Many sovereign nations have killed that many or more of their own citizens, Myanmar and Cambodia for example, and the USA has not intervened. Part of Trump's campaign promises related to the USA not being the world's policeman, this issue strikes me as another propaganda red herring.
C'mon, he's more than a mere clothes horse with a wardrobe.
There's also makeup.
He's obviously got his own high-dollar custom color pallette now, and more-accomplished artists to better co-ordinate with the costumes and the lighting.
No more looking like the average person with that run-of-the-mill plain commodity orange.

> The systems I worked on were for cooling larger structures like commercial greenhouses, gov installations and mansions. 64° degree water would be pumped up from 400' down, run thru a series of chillers (for a/c) and then returned underground - about 20° or 25° warmer.
I read this several times in the context of _geothermal_ energy, and had no clue what you were talking about.
Then I realised, you must be an American and use 'freedom units', coupled with a misunderstanding of what geothermal means.
Yes, it doesn't really quack at all and you cannot explain these points away. There would be peace in Gaza today if it didn't invade Israel to slaughter civilians.
