Those are so called flute sounds or harmonics, ie you don't press the string against the fretboard or fret normally at all. Instead you touch it very gently to force a vibration node there where your finger is. It doesn't work at all on most places along the string, you end up just damping the string. The easiest harmonic is halfway between bridge and nut, or at 12th fret, ie you force the string to vibrate with half the wavelength, or a node in the middle, or double frequency, or one octave higher, compared to free string. Then second easiest is 7th fret and then 5th (which is 2 octaves, ie quadruple frequency) and 9th. So you get less than pentatonic scale if you only use those, but they are useful pointers or anchors anyway.

But this is not exact!

Music harmonics are just about multiples. Ie one note rings at some frequency and another note that sounds nice with it rings at some multiple of it. Or they have some common factor. The twelve note system and the twelvth roots are just approximations for some of these harmonies. There's even very recent innovation like true temperament frets. But I don't think that works with all the different song keys and tunings... Maybe it's another reason why I should buy a guitar for every song key we have!

This sort of thing is really hard to avoid. If you've ever spent time as somehow very different in a social setting, you can see this happening all the time. Even in positive ways.


I think often in families, if a generation is successful with money (for example as engineer or enterpreneur), then next generation often become artists or politicians etc.

But on this flight it did not have a combustion engine, I assume it was fully electric and if so, the title is 100% correct.

For some reason, almost all audio apps have very odd scroll and zooming behaviour (and home/end keys also do weird things). Also doing basic things like starting playback or recording from start or from cursor tends to be quite complex in many of them. It would be interesting to know why that is so. Maybe it is so that you don't accidentally trigger it? If you're just doing editing and never recording, you never want to trigger recording with r, only with some complex modifier combo. But if you're a musician, that's about all you do, hit record and stop and playback and stop.

I didn't read the whole thing but how would fizzbuzz or something like that look like in the language? I found lots of writings and examples but some basics are also nice for a person who wouldn't want to invest a lot of time at first.

I have biked with lots of coaster bikes and lockup has never been a problem. Like with a lot of things, you just need a little bit of humble attitude and trial and error to get the feel and then once you get it, it gets easier and easier. I don't think they lock up easily at all.

Same if you drive an unfamiliar car, it's more bumpy in the beginning but your brain will adapt, especially manual gears. I remember some cars did have terrible clutches and gearboxes and very low torque engines so it felt intimidating as a kid.
