Nobody cares about your phone in China, if you are tourist, you are less likely have your phone searched than when visiting US. Nobody is going to ask you for your social media profiles when visiting China, unlike when visiting US. So who is here the free country?

I've spent this summer 3 weeks in China, used 2 VPNs, both of them worked fine (1 cost less than dollar, the other 4-5 dollars), so did my wife, mother and her husband, guess how many times someone cared about checking our phone.

The biggest issue was when we travelled into Beijing province where there are mo strict border checks and police found out we didn't register our accommodation (at wife's family), the scary horrible policemen then locked us for weeks and deport us from country... No, seriously, that would more likely happen in US than in China, in China they just told us to register after the weekend at local police station and let us continue into province to check Great wall, policemen in police station could not care less and be more laid back about it.

Maybe visit some other countries to have actual experiences instead spreading everywhere your feelings about other countries based on some propaganda.

> if you are tourist

It's not the tourists, it's the local dissidents that have something to fear. Or maybe try going there as a tourist, and putting up anti-party posters.

(2019)

It's Super Mario Land you can play on SNES as 4 player co-op multiplayer.

Here should be the latest V1.5 - this is coded from scratch, not a ROM hack!

no, you wrote:

PS3 was released in NA on November 17th 2006 BEFORE Wii was released on November 19th 2006, which makes PS3 retro console according your definition since PS3 is older than Wii, so maybe next time don't name specific console and just say you consider everything without HDMI a retro console.

What happens if you upload illegally owned ROMs, does Retroarch has some verification on Apple TV? Never noticed it when playing on Android TV or PS3, so the words "your legally owned" seem redundant.

It is hard to take seriously someone who claims this: "Some rare PS3 models are compatible with PS2 games."

All PS3 models can play PS2 games (just not from disc, who borthers with discs in 2026 anyway?).

Thanks to Hen PS3 is amazing console where you can play natively PS1, PS2 and PS3 games (just search "game name ROM" in Google) + you can use RetroArch to play NES, SNES and other console older games. I find it funny even PS3 is nowadays considered retro console considering it has pretty amazing graphics, not that bad from newest games.

I bought mine used PS3 Slim for 40EUR including original dualshock controller and HDMI cable (local classifieds in EU) + we had already two other ipega gamepads we used before to play NES/SNES/N64 and Android games with kids on Android TV (though mostly SNES). This is first console in my life, when I was kid we played games on ZX Spectrum, C64 and later on desktop PCs, consoles were just too expensive/limited compared to versatile PC.

It was the best 40EUR spent on gaming, all it took was to install firmware with HEN and then I can download and play whatever I want with kids, just getting the game in is PITA, since I can't make it to recognize NTFS drive, FAT32 limit kills most of the ISOs, so usually I just copy them through FTP which takes looong time (think 1MB/s).

According author you should not want to buy PS3, I fail to see the reason, it use standard HDMI cable and can emulate lot of consoles and play thousands of games.

My kids also like playing games on their cheap Data Frog SF2000 handhels retro console with tons of games from various consoles on memory card, you can add other games.

I wonder if the same impact happens on other browsers too, but that’s shady af.

"She brought him into the house with her parents and they made him some hotdogs."

Is it common in US to feed dogs with hotdogs?

If you found a dog on the street then you probably don't have any actual dog food. A hot dog seems like one of the best options in an average fridge.

sausage I can understand, hotdog as sausage in bun is beyond my understanding

Ah, there's the confusion. We typically refer to both the sausage itself, and the complete dish (with bun and toppings), as a "hot dog", especially if the sausage is a generic Frankfurter or Vienna sausage. If someone said they fed a dog a hotdog, I'd assume it's just the sausage.

As long as they're not panting, I think it's generally not cannibalism.

It's common to give snacks to your pet. In the US and anywhere

Same here (xennial), it confuses lot of telemarketers out of their script, if someone start talking with me I ask them "do I have contract with you?", if the answer is "no", I hang up, since it's clearly someone selling something.

I fail to see any benefit over:

1. dumb phone with fixed dial contacts

2. properly set smartphone which can be used as dumb phone with restricted contacts and no app install allowed, apps screen time limited to zero or heck even browser disabled in guest profile

3. kids smartwatch with parental controls which limit who they can call and who can call and message them, I'm just working on one of these and it's great even for seniors

If you don't like kid having wearable with them I have shocking news for you - you can leave all of the above at home!

Btw. kids nowadays don't really call each other, they text (IM) each other. And for the record I am one of those few parents who didn't give phone/tablet to their toddlers hands like majority of people do wheever they are (public transport, car, waiting room, etc.), my older elementary school kid has "dumb" phone (my old Symbian Nokia, but he use it only for calls/SMS anyway, though I will probably switch to restricted smartphone since it's inconvenient even for me not being able to send whatsapp message, battery is crap and classmates have whatsapp as well), my younger elementary school kid doesn't have anything, but when she goes outside alone she takes Motorola walkie talkie with roughly 0.5-1km range in city.
