> All that said home distillation is dangerous

No, it is not. Not more dangerous than rice stir‑frying

> methanol poisoning is real

Ethanol is antidot. So again, your chances to severely poison yourself not much higher than if you instead of alcohol were doing Japanese cuisine.

> Not more dangerous than rice stir‑frying

It's a lot easier to deal with a small grease fire than vaporized ethanol around an open flame.

> Ethanol is antidot. So again, your chances to severely poison yourself not much higher than if you instead of alcohol were doing Japanese cuisine.

Uh huh that's why all people blinded by bad moonshine are living healthy with full eyesight and no other negative affects, just like people that ate some bad fish

> In asymmetric drone warfare stronger economies can nearly “costlessly” conquer less wealthy economies.

Iran vs US shows the opposite. Stronger economy is a huge vulnerability, low human life cost is a big advantage. Economy matters a lot, but if one country can allow itself to lose 80% of it's resources in the war, and another will capitulates long before 5% loss, the first will win no matter the size of the economy.

> With our current systems, the abundance will only go to the holders of capital.

Then there will be jobs. I mean that is pretty simple concept.

That is why schools should have physical punishments. "What is the purpose of learning this? What a stupid question? To not get additional lashes, obviously"

Yeah, mathematicians will totally be fine.

Right now mathematicians are freaking out because they think the AI will make them useless and they will have to go find real job with real usefulness.

But honestly mathematicians have been totally useless long before the first AI, so generally nothing have changed for them.

The entire cryptographic underpinning of the Internet is based on mathematics that, when I learned it as an undergraduate in the 1980's, was considered just an impractical curiosity. Non-Euclidean geometry became special relativity. Math underpins all science - "totally useless" phooey.

When I learned it as an undergraduate way later, entire cryptographic underpinning of the Internet were based on pretty trivial mathematics. Trivial to that extent, that if mathematicians wouldn't create those math, then it would be created by engineers designing cryptography along the way. So even there mathematicians were totally useless.

Wait, what? Aren't that bill literally supposed to do exactly the opposite?

"Are you selling the games? Here are your new duties and obligations, and tomorrow you will get even more, get ready to publish source code or something! What, your game only on paid subscription? Guess what? Keep doing what you are doing, that bill has nothing to do with you!"

There is no bill yet, but I assume it'll be modelled on Stop Killing Games, which covers subscriptions too.

> I definitely would not describe implementation of solar as "fanatical" by most governments

Idk, when you because of that implementation, for 20 years pay for the energy 10 times more comparatively to coal generated energy, that seems pretty fanatical by me.

> 10 times more comparatively to coal generated energy

Only when you completely ignore the cost of its externalities, of course.

For 2024, worldwide $6.7tn in implicit subsidies (that's the externalities) plus $725bn in explicit subsides, for all fossil fuels.

> Or maybe, idk, we do something about this?

Like what? There is no things that will get an average engineer or lawyer better result in the future than retraining and adjusting their living standards.

> I'm already a part of a generation that's the first in American history to have a lower standard of living than their parents.

Good. While US dominance over the world and it's ability to rob other countries will continue to decrease, your living standards will continue to decrease as well.

> Furthermore, why do you believe that the only possible outcome of class solidarity is violent revolution?

Because most people are retarded and any class solidarity movement will be inevitably captured by the malicious agents.

> Why do you believe that any revolution would inevitably settle on, presumably, a specifically soviet model of government and economic policy?

Because this is the natural form of government with stated goal being the fair redistribution of wealth.

Ah yes, the ol' "the unwashed masses are too dumb to know what's good for them"

I can't imagine you're big on democracy per se either, huh

it's possible to believe in democracy in principle and also understand that we are too far gone to either recover or find an alternative.

we let the rot grow for too long.

> The largest customers of the trades class are the white collar class. The largest customers of service industries are the white collar class.

> It _will_ be "the rich get poorer and the poor get poorer".

That is the complete copium. All the stats and models shows that white collar class will get poorer, EVERYBODY ELSE will get richer. Plain and simple.

> All the stats and models shows that white collar class will get poorer, EVERYBODY ELSE will get richer.

Would you mind sharing a source for that? I can't think of a mechanism that would make sure that the poor get richer.

Intuitively I would expect a continuation or acceleration of the current trend, i.e. concentration of wealth at the very top (billionaires).
