Every time people think a technology will solve all their problems (remember guys from NOSQL back in the days?), they need to see this talk. The speaker also did this talk as a keynote a couple of times during other conferences.


You don't have to have a cluster to run spark scripts, setting master to `local` (and running it on one machine) is often enough for small anounts of data.

> 1-3 pages of notes per 100 pages of text is a good goal to shoot for; more than that is often too much. I often used a technique of transforming a book into a mindmap, it's much more visual and readable than a simple plain text with notes.
