So then you have to run those apps as root user, or does sudo to your own user work? I wouldn't expect it to with those perms set.

Seems more dangerous than just dealing with the cruft.

I don't launch them as root. That defeats the purpose because they would write on the ~ folder. ZSH Terminal grumbles when launching but why the hell does it want to log my every command?

only 1 app has failed to launch and I barely need it anymore.

if it is crucial, I give myself permission to edit the folder so the application can create its folder for dumping rubbish

zsh wants to write a history file so you can recall previous commands. You can disable it or set to to write somewhere else

Can never predict your future. Enjoy what you will, when you can. I was in a motorcycle accident in 2021, TBI, hospitalized for 3mo, induced coma, and rehab for 9 months after.

I am back on the horse. It is just a zen and still relaxing time, albeit more anxiety while riding, than before. Thankful I can still ride, and I do.

You were in a crash sir.

I'm glad you're better. Tenacity.

Safest travels. Glad to hear you humped back on 'er.

`* 1 * * * sleep $(( $(od -N1 -tuC -An /dev/urandom) \% 45 ))m ; <your command here>`

So the `OnCalendar` stanza is the same as a Cron job; without the helpful comments of the ordering? And that is considered _easier_??

Just use Cron. It does one thing and does it well.

The systemd one supports timezones. You can say America/Denver and the like, or Etc/UTC

1) Your production equipment doesn't have its TZ set to UTC? Enjoy dealing with the intermittent and irregular hassle of DST changes, I guess.

2) From the crontab(5) on my system:

The CRON_TZ variable specifies the time zone specific for the cron ta‐
ble. The user should enter a time according to the specified time zone
into the table. The time used for writing into a log file is taken from
the local time zone, where the daemon is running.
If you have a job you need scheduled in a different timezone, dump a new file in /etc/cron.d, alter its CRON_TZ variable and go to town, as it were.

The spend is going to AI (which is 70% Reddit sourced); of course its being wasted. You don't need KPIs to tell you that.

The man (character) was a rightful, respected, hard-ass. But made good points with evidence to explain the _why_; a true leader.

> None of these autocratic countries care about their own populations. Trump has said so explicitly many times.

Going to need a better source than a habitual liar.

In legal terms, one would call this a "statement against interest". If a politician says he does not care one bit about the welfare his constituents, it is reasonable for those constituents to take him at his word no matter how untrustworthy he is. It only hurts him if we believe it.

Iranian negotiators probably shouldn't believe him, because it's not against interest in that context. There probably just aren't any on Hacker News.

Correction: Trump probably isn't even a liar, but a bullshitter. A liar, at the very least, understands whatever he's saying is not true; a bullshitter doesn't care at all about the relationship between his words and the truth, he just makes noise.

> Yes. I know Andreessen-Horowitz and I don’t know a16z.

So the world needs to adapt to your knowledge instead of you learning to adapt to a often used, and well-known moniker?

> are/were peace-loving good guys,

And the US is?

Isn't that the promise of AI??
