To be sorta on topic, I lived in many countries and I had to get used to people mangling my name in the most creative ways. As long as there is some form of ID or customer reference, I don't care.
I've interviewed at Google, and their phone screening questions are exactly that, some basic coding exercise. E.g. how would you serialize a binary tree, or find the largest substring in lexicographical order.
Thanks for the link! I have been using http://winhelp2002.mvps.org/hosts.htm for many years but it looks like StevenBlack's file is more comprehensive and updated more frequently.
Just used this list to set up DNS blocks on my network (DD-WRT/DNSmasq forcibly handles DNS traffic, with a bash script to add IPv6 hosts entries). Seems to work well so far.
Related-ish: someone linked to this fantastic read [1] today in some HN thread, and after going through it in awe, I come across the guy's Wikipedia page [2]. Yikes!
Some sort of support for people working on building "lifestyle businesses" as side projects would be fantastic. Not all of us have megalomaniac dreams of running the next AirBnb. Question: would YC Fellowship be a good fit for that?
YC is in the business of making money (along with promoting substantial positive change in the world). Unfortunately lifestyle businesses don't really work towards either of these ends, and it doesn't make sense for YC to fund them.
Happy to have your participation inside the Baqqer community. We're trying to help hackers + makers build better, bigger by community crowdfunding, feedback, and building together. :)
