I wonder if this layoff statistics also consider the contractors whose contract wasn’t extended . The company I work for didn’t do any layoffs in theory but simply stopped extending expiring contracts. And let me tell you, there were a lot of contractors.

Yep, 10% advertised RIF usually translates to ~30% actual headcount reduction.

I think I went one step further because all of my tabs by default is another temporary container. I have been using https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/temporary-con... extension which allows you to create completely clean tabs every-time you open a new tab.

I know this might sound crazy but I am so used it by now so it doesn't hurt much anymore. Also, I can login to any website with 1-3 clicks thanks for password managers so not a big deal.

I've been using this for 1 or 2 years and it makes my life so much easier... I don't understand why Firefox doesn't make this and Multi-account containers an integral part of the browser.

Last article is from December 2022 - almost 9 months ago and I always enjoyed reading this series and I was wondering if there is a similar thing out there that I am not aware of.

What forces you to use validator function and not just do Email(input)? This is how you actually do it in Scala if anyone interested https://github.com/fthomas/refined

Yeah, refined types are a great solution to this problem, but can lead to slow compile times. Just having private constructor for a case class and a public apply method that is an Option or Either or something can go a long way in my experience.

I came here hoping that someone would explain what is really going on. Now I feel a bit better since I am not the only one.
