Since this is a contract position, do you consider part-timers by any chance? I'd really like to do what you do and I think I could make a solid case on why I'm the man for this job, but I'm booked for 2 days a week for the next few months. Should I try applying anyway?

I like this solution much better when facing less severe situations. Keep in mind that it's also a solution for learning, so it can be used to guide the AI towards the proper action, instead of baby sitting it and redesigning it forever.
