I love boring-that-works but that's just me. Right about brand preception, it made me move to jolla, lots of suffering and a sense of acomplishment because fewer cents of my money going to far right pockets.
Nah I sunk many thousands of hours into these accounts; definitely not a small cost.
Sure I could get a new account and pay twice for the game I already purchased multiple times - that would’ve ground my gears too
I think the new account would have to be a Microsoft account also, so you wouldn't have even gained anything by not migrating.
Some servers allow joining without a Microsoft account even these days, but probably can't play on any of the servers you regularly play on, if you don't have a Microsoft account.
We take everything we have, freedom, privacy, free speech, for granted. The reality seems to be that these concepts are fungible and that we have to be ready to fight for them. Instead we trade these for convenience, and it's very very sad.
Humans are able to identify a person just with general dimensions and how they move. It's probably within the reach of today's machine learning techniques...
Brazil was so right. We're just an inference away from being jailed. I'm not from UK but it shows how we are all helpless and see in plain conciousness what is coming. When did we lost the grip?
Those who in power of the state don't want to loose power. A protest, revolt is the best way to overthrow that. So to eliminate that threat is to survey. Install fear and you have control.
> The idea that emerged around the time of the French Revolution that the political spectrum can be divided into a right- and left wing in the first place – it becomes clear that the Left, in its essence, is a critique of bureaucracy, even if it’s one that has, again and again, been forced to accommodate itself in practice to the very bureaucratic structures and mindset it originally arose to oppose. You’ve been drinking the propaganda again. Most cases don’t make it to court. The courts lean towards trusting the police. The police lean towards perjury.
Dunno. I've lived in England sixty years and don't know anyone who went to jail apart from one who was the getaway driver for a robbery. I know a few who have done crimes but gotten away with it. Do you live there and know anyone unfairly banged up? Not sure which propaganda I should have seen? I see a lot of MAGA types who haven't been here determined to make out it's some sort of hell hole.
I was chatting to friends last week and one of the has a friend who knows a friendly drug addict who nicks meat to order - they say what they want and he goes to Tesco and walks out with it. That's the more common problem - under enforcement rather than overdoing it.
Good friend is a criminal defense barrister in London.
You can have non enforcement and stitch-ups in the same system. On the one hand, they just don’t care about regular policing. On the other, if you cross their path, or you “fit the description”, they’ll do anything, including perjury, to convict.
They aren’t here to protect you or your property. They are here to protect the system.
I'm not fully understanding this business of MoE so please forgive me if this is a dumb question, but would it be possible to use MPI with a small cluster to distribute the load?
