Most corrupt in the world? Easy to debunk: It ranks on 10 (10th best) as per https://www.transparency.org/en/cpi/2025 Do they need to do better? Absolutely!

Corruption perception index measures low-level everyday corruption, but ignores political corruption

Fine, let's take another dataset. There's also https://ourworldindata.org/grapher/political-corruption-inde... Germany is 8th best there, not the worst. I'm not arguing that there's no corruption, the country was a role model, or anything like that. That kind of post-fact accusation is not helpful, it's leading society in a dangerously wrong direction.

This just means that number 1 is also corrupt. OP is talking about the scale of none to complete corruption, not the relative rankings of all countries.

> The CPI ranks 182 countries and territories worldwide by their perceived levels of public sector corruption.

Who are "they", you mean one commenter you assume is European? You are right that at the beginning of the 20th century, there was still a lack of democratic structures, in Europe, as well as in the United States of America, where the 19th amendment was introduced in 1920 and the Voting Right Act in 1965.

Does your browser have a reader mode? Looks quite decent in Safari and Brave

The concept of https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Agrivoltaics still sounds more promising than putting solar panels on top of the canal.

Not if the goal is preventing evaporation. Vertical panels in farmland solve a different problem than this does.

Yes, you are right. There's a comment further above to cover the canal but not with solar panels and have the panels in a solar park. The covered area in that solar park could then be used for agriculture - and maybe irrigated with the water from the covered canal.

Yes, we could also put the canal underground in a tunnel and build a nuclear plant, but none of that is relevant either. The article isa bout what we learned by putting panels on canals, not looking for alternatives.

I just checked whether it's the first release after Jason Evans stepped down as maintainer, but it isn't. That was the previous release, 5.3.1

Storypoints do not mean "time". Time would be too concrete and measurable and would be bad for selling more agile coachings. Instead storypoints represent "effort". What does it mean and how can it be used to estimate a shipping date? I was told that I just don't understand.

One customer pulled billing by storypoints, loved this one

Lots of common main ingredients like potatoes, beets, cabbage, and sausages. It could also have a different reason, like https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Former_eastern_territories_of_...

Not to forget Unladen Swallow Which even tried to merge into CPython: https://peps.python.org/pep-3146/

ed2k, nice! That reminds me of this superb piece of software: MLDonkey (https://github.com/ygrek/mldonkey), written in OCaml.

That is really neat. I wasn't aware of it. Multi-protocol always sounds ideal but I've had bad luck finding any that still work. Thanks for sharing!

For me the most clear example (in English and other languages that borrowed from Latin) is "to move" and "mobile".
