What I see from outside is complete full reversal of US and China and their roles in the world regarding politics and security. Plus completely destabilizing global oil transport, massively increasing prices and helping trigger a global recession.

Do you work for OpenCode? How do you know this? Every similarly sized start up would have added the statement “OpenCode Desktop users are not affected.” The fact they didn’t means they can not definitively rule that case out. It would be prudent to rotate out your third party keys in this situation, especially if it is a API key with a high drain limit.
It sounds like most users are not affected (zen | go), and that if you are, you would have received an email. Check your OpenAi and Anthropic account for usage that was not yours.
Run a gateway like GoModel instead of uploading your keys to a vendor to prevent this class of attack in the future.
OpenAI models don’t come close to competing with deepseek in cost quality ratio. I have a $20 plus plan and I run out of my 5h limit in literal minutes, every tick of the harness is like 10% of my 5h limit.
You can in contrast get far more done with $20 worth of deepseek api spend. No comparison.
There is no such thing as “free speech” anywhere. It’s all a spectrum and the Americans in particular are indoctrinated. It’s a red herring to distract from the real social issues. People in America have some of the worst healthcare in the world. But hey at least we have “free speech”.
Fixing healthcare or economic policies is typically an act of congress type of thing - not even an amendment. Large popular support - and it can be fixed. Fixing freedom of speech or the ability to vote at all - once it is gone - usually takes a price payed in blood. Sometimes rivers of it.
