I think X (formerly Twitter) provides an API called the Filtered Stream endpoint to let you see tweets in real time. Its also crazy expensive, like $40K a month or something. So is this similar?
I made defmetrix for myself. I started making tools that I used in my daily job and just put them online for others to use for free. Its also more convenient for me to access my tools/data anywhere via the web and its been a fun learning experience to run a site.
The stock is at an all time high, who can blame him. We all know at some point he is going to sell his shares. And its not like hes selling them all, this is a small amount for him.
Im very biased because I work in the US defense industry, but I dont see this ending well. Im afraid of the downstream effects, and they might not even be real.

It's mostly for navigational search. Say you're looking for a tool that does X, this engine will match your query against all the domains in the database to find you the closest matching domain that solves for that pain point you have.
It's like a discovery engine to help you find tools, products, services, or domains that cater to (or market themselves as a solution for) the problem you have.
