We have many people - including world leaders - that support, or run cover for, mass deaths on our very own planet, right now.

Don't think there'd be much consideration for the morality of colonizing another planet.

It feels like the Covid lockdown WFH times where managers mandated everyone has their webcams on. Having been in some of these management conversations, it was purely to ensure no one is just chilling on their bed.

Pretty dumb, as at that time not everyone was had a home office set up, and one can work from their bed perfectly fine, especially when someone wants to put their feet up for a bit during a team meeting.

The bed thing is about mandatory discomfort, not about how well you can do the work. A lot of office politics is about the need for control.

During COVID times I witnessed the most absurd pissing match - our CTO (and founder) was taking calls from his boat at anchor (camera on, palm trees in the back drop) while was working from a coffee shop(!)

The CEO tried publicly dressing down the CTO on a large call because his workspace must be “too distracting to work from.”

I had a similar incident just after COVID. I couldn’t be fired for reasons, so I complied with the psychotic RTO bullshit in the most noxious way with a smoker in the back of my truck, had it cooking all morning, and hosted lunch in my office.

CEO guy was in Mexico or something and lost his mind, and went on a 10 minute tantrum with the principal of the group the owned the company, who happened to be in my office eating brisket. It was a good laugh.

I have sometimes had to work in bed while running a low fever.

I do that because I believe in the mission and work is assessed by outcome.

The flip side too — I learned well before COVID that the Kanban principle of “make work visible” applies to WFH

That's not quite true. If you're working all remote, it is difficult to build a connection with other people, but multiples more difficult if all you ever see is a blank square with a name.

My team is all remote so a make it a point to always be on camera, it does help a bit to know these are real people not just bots with a blank zoom presence. I don't enforce it onto others but it would be nice if everyone showed up as a real person.

As a blank zoom presence kinda colleague, I do so because we should never confuse real comraderie with its strangely expected modern analog.

A noseshot with compression artifacts, joined with kitchen-wall echoes over a laptop mic. Just enough latency to inhibit natural banter. I'd rather hear your text turned into vlog. At least until we get a real coffee together.

Such a delightful website

Me too! I briefly worked in a home office with the similar layout to the link above. Made such a massive difference in mood while working.

Well what else do you expect when you subjugate a native population for decades? Just expect perfect victims?

The peaceful route didn't work. Only idiots will think continuing with the status quo will result in anything different.

You provided a list of reasons why you feel like teenagers at a music festival should be murdered, right?

Like my personal sentiment is, war is senseless, and both sides are wrong in some way or another. But yeah, I don't think children should be murdered period, so I'm not going to try and give a list of reasons why it's OK, because there isn't one.

Anyone committing war crimes should be punished for it, period.

My original question was simply, what should have been done differently "by the world leaders"?

World leaders should stop giving free money to the guys who are doing a holocaust. I think we can all agree on that.

What do you think Israel should do now? What would be a sensible course of action going forwards?

Their options are to prolong this forever-war (it's worked so far, 75 years, but getting precarious), or actually do the thing and destroy Palestine once and for all (won't be hard - they have nukes), or negotiate peace (also not difficult - it's always Israel who rejects reasonable peace deals), or accept their own destruction and flee.

How many teenagers were killed by Hamas? And are there independent sources that verify this?

Also, is Oct 7 enough justification to shoot 335 bullets at 6 year old Hind Rajab?

Your questions reek of bias by trying to centre everything to Oct 7, as though history began there. If you really cared about children, you'd have referenced the thousands of Palestinian children killed by Israel before Oct 7.

Why are all pro-Israel responses the same?

It's not Genocide...

...because UN is corrupt...

...and numbers are from Khamassss,,,,

...and whatabout whatabout whatabout Iran Sudan....

...you hate us coz we're Jewssss....

It's the good old whataboutism. It's almost a universal telltale for people in denial of their dirty consciousness.

Such weak whataboutism as well. I know so many pro-Palestine people personally and people I follow online that also speak out about Sudan, Iran, other ME countries.

Heck, I know so many Muslims critical of Muslim majority nations.

Haven't noticed it personally, but fwiw you're not the first I've come across this complaint in the last few days...

how do you get the "x" session name?

You can even tell the new harness to go find your latest session in the other harness and it works perfectly. You don't even need the name!

In CC, "/exit" will tell you how to --resume <session-id> upon exit. This will eat zero tokens, and it actually does not require an active internet connection.

`claude --resume` will list your sessions, you can copy the title. Codex may just list and grep the sessions files in ~/.claude and filter the one with the name.

I also have the habit of naming my sessions with `/rename`

/resume in claude code.

Stopped reading DF ever since his unhinged posts mocking the war crimes being committed in Palestine at the hands of Israel.

"F*k around and find out" he quote tweeted a news article that talked about how phone and internet services were cut out in Gaza as armed Israeli occupational forces entered Gaza.

Wow, stunning shots!
