My thought exactly. People picking fights on HN make me laugh. Picking fights in general is bad enough, but come on... on the internet? Grow up.

The author needs to read this and get a life. Stop focusing on the downsides and actually do some work. It's as though people want to entirely forget the past and merely see the present.

This post is, entirely, ignorant and racist.

Furthermore, shame on HN for taking on the liberal agenda and feeling pity. It's one thing to point out a problem. But to point out a problem without offering a solution? This is pathetic. For the first time, I am embarrassed to be part of this community. Way to be objective like the logical type we aspire to be guys! You've really let me down by even allowing this to reach the front page. This does not help me write code better... in any way. You have exploited HN by posting, and REALLY? upvoting this kind of bullshit.

I've left a couple of comments on HN about the perils of multitasking. Didn't go over well. Not a popular idea here... unless you can find something online to back you up!

Anyone else feel a little guilty just watching it?

Why would one feel guilty?

This is great... I can actually use this more than the google alternative!

It looks great, but... Come on... Bring back single tasking...

Does anyone else feel like a complete fool for having thought these guys were capable of pulling this off?

You shouldn't. Although I'm in software now, I've done enough hardware design to know that sometimes shit just happens no matter how well you jump through all the hoops.

It's a pity that it happened so soon after the product was released, but things like this are not at all unusual. In fact, they're lucky that they found out about it right away. I've known of suppliers changing the component they sell you without informing anyone or changing the part number, causing problems that go undetected for years.

Like an earlier poster said: hardware is hard.

Brilliant observations and use of the "my guy." Made me feel all warm and fuzzy.

I find that this is much more the norm for how successful networking. No one's going to argue with the babe.

It just says my patience will be rewarded with tea... I'm on an iPhone. I'm going to have to be patient for a very long time to get this tea. And I'm thirsty now.

Is this how marketing is supposed to work?

Yes, because you're sitting at Starbucks. If you go get tea, you'll be buying Tazo. Mission accomplished!

Seems like the WakeMate guys are desperate to burn bridges. There are proper channels for addressing negative reviews... This isn't one of them. It's difficult for me to maintain interest in a company that doesn't respond to criticism with a promise to do better in the future. Oh well.
