just curious - so is YT Premium really ad-free on mobile? I've been burned by streaming services taking my money and still pushing ads in my face. that's the main reason I haven't signed up for YT Premium.

It's really ad-free everywhere EXCEPT for those sponsor segments that the video authors themselves add to their own videos. In those cases, YT premium usually shows a "skip this segment" button.

Whereas alternate YouTube clients that implement sponsorblock can skip those automatically

Yes

This is the greatest use of AI that I've seen so far - thank you :)

1000% percent!

I go to a local game exchange place, they have all kinds of DVDs and Blu-Rays for dirt cheap.

just signed up for TierHive after reading this. I'm really impressed with their transparency on what they are vs what they aren't:

glad to hear I'm not the only one!!!

a few months back I opened up a streaming service that I pay for to watch a old TV show. I was _enraged_ to find out that they put ADS WHERE COMMERCIALS USED TO BE. I thought the whole point of paying was to avoid ads!

so now I visit my used Blu-Ray/DVD store about once a month. they always have buy two/get one free, and the prices are ridiculously low.

is it a better solution? I don't know, but I do know that I don't have to watch those ads anymore.

hello Alex,

tech nerd/musician here, I would be very interested in this! do you have an email list or something I can sign up for? this is fantastic, and if the $$$ is not crazy, I would want this for sure.

I would love to read up on how such interfaces (spaceship flight controls, avionics controls, etc.) are designed and the history of them. If anyone knows of any such resource, please point the way!

Those original Elektron machines are just amazing, as are their current devices. This is great!

this seems like an outstanding idea!

Aw, thanks! I thunk it myself :)

The cross-referencing between different corpora has actually been very helpful. I was able to find a typo in the notes to a US Code section through it and submitted it to the OLRC. They fixed it, so now I will forever be bragging about having fixed an error in the US Code haha

Well done on this! Two questions for you.

1) How much do you know about Policy Genius? Perhaps their trajectory could be instructive in what went well / wrong?

2) What do you think about adding a search for public equities? Type in AAPL, NVDA, etc.. and then UScodex delivers a code analysis that could surface relevant regulatory milestones / capture. If it works this could be a professional insights tool and/or "risk and compliance" software.

Good luck.

Oops - I meant FiscalNote not Policy Genius. Sorry.

This is so incredibly naive to me; the problem isn't AI, it's (as always) profit-above-all driven sociopaths that are running the show.

If I present as cynical, will people just believe me when I don't provide any justification?
