Not surprised. I feel like this was bound to happen. I reckon TikTok will see similar alternatives pop up with the same differentiator (if it hasn't happened already).
The result is a highly rated app that's both fast and performant for the end user, while also cost/speed efficient for the business to run and maintain.
Agreed 100% on Madison. It's is one of the most beautiful cities I've ever witnessed, and the culture there is energized and unique. I've had the opportunity to bootstrap my company there, and it's something I wouldn't have been able to achieve in many other cities, especial SF.
That said, I'm beginning to find the internet at large the best "place" to build a company. I've begun to realize that in many ways location has become less and less important to the potential success of a company. I'm experiencing this first hand, as are countless others around the globe.
I could definitely use something like this on iOS as well.
As a designer, I'm constantly making things I want to be able to show to others at any given time, so I constantly email mockups to my phone. The process currently sucks, and this would be really helpful.
