I built a site that visualizes continuous glucose monitor data.
Everything is stored in your browser's database so there is no server and I (you) don't have to worry about securing or sharing your data.
Same here. Two years into a job and I start to get restless and have a hard time continuing. Recently diagnosed with ADHD at 39. Knowing the cause helps a little but it's still a bitch. No real suggestions to combat this but, there are others out there suffering with this.
> maybe this industry is just plain fucking boring and I should accept that and move on
I've been trying to get out of the industry but the golden handcuffs make it so difficult.
Agreed. I've been doing this and trying to stop now - not easy!
If you are on meds it will greatly increase your heart rate and bood pressure, I feel more anxious and just not as clear headed on nicotine.

With every chair I've tried I always have pain in my elbows from the arm rests. I've tried those strap on pads (soft and firm) but still have pain. Does anyone else have this issue and did you find a good solution?
Read up on borderline personality disorder. This vicious cycle sounds like a hallmark of BPD -- excitement/interesting -> boredom -> Emptiness -> depression/hell.
Yes, I think that in order to avoid this vicious cycle it's important to establish some good structure in life to avoid said ups and downs.
Limit the amount of work you do, work with clear and simple short-term objectives. Avoid dopamine feeds like refreshing HN or social networks. That hacks your reward pathways and makes you much more prone to BPD if you are already susceptible.
Sleep at very strict schedules. Waking up very early is a great antidepressant, especially if you go out to get some sun first thing in the morning. Besides, exercise in the nature regularly.
Lastly, many gut bacteria are known to produce nasty metabolites that have a direct influence on neural pathways. There's a lot of research lately in Nature & Science about the gut-brain axis. Making sure you have a good supply of short-chain fatty acids and real food is a decent starting point to avoid this.
Regardless, ifend (probably), and definitely myself are not psychologists. Please go see a psychologist. This is not a "drugs will make everything better" but more like you should talk to a professional. Maybe this is all a life perspective thing, maybe it's past trauma, whatever.
They can help. And if you hate them...then you probably have BPD :)
> Another dislike is that full size keyboards are scorned and generally unavailable. Hey check it out, I’m a full sized adult doing full size job with my pc, so I actually do use the number pad, etc.
I got a short keyboard (no number pad) for the ergonomics. I've been battling ergonomics pains (mainly shoulder). After reading many articles one mentioned getting a shorter keyboard so you don't have to move your hand as far to transition from keyboard to mouse. I gave it a try and it does help. I do miss the number pad though!
