unfavorable or symbolic bills introduced for fundraising, campaign attack ads, etc.

Happens when one party holds most power in govt.

May not even reach the floor for a debate, let alone vote.

Endurance athlete induced heart issues. Wikipedia says cyclists are diagnosed with it.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arrhythmogenic_cardiomyopathy

The article says it was inherited. The first line in the wikipedia article you linked also says it was inherited.

thanks, missed that in the original as I was reading though the posted wiki.

“ARVC can also develop in intense endurance athletes in the absence of desmosomal abnormalities. Exercise-induced ARVC is possibly a result of excessive right ventricular wall stress during high intensity exercise.”

How does it handle a child calling and not knowing how to respond to the AI question(s)?

Using it for 311 versus 911 is a distinct difference.

>>On Monday, however, the FDA said that the "false-positive lab sample DOES NOT change the basis for [the] FDA's ongoing outbreak investigation or the overwhelming epidemiological data supporting the current voluntary recall by Taylor Farms." The agency added that its "traceback investigation and outbreak data continue to converge on shredded iceberg lettuce from Taylor Farms locations in central Mexico."

The false positive "doesn't call into question the conclusion of the outbreak investigation," McEntire said. Had the positive test been confirmed, "it could've resulted in a substantially expanded recall." <<

I like the part where they say “No Taylor Farms branded products are involved in this recall.” As in there are other brands they do not mention which were but do not list them which they could own and distribute under.

Whatever gets more people interested in soccer, talking about it, and out playing it.

FIFA shortened a red card for Ronaldo that was supposed to be 3 games out. 0

One live view for USA game showed the other player run from behind Balogun but that was not in the replays. Both players went for the ball and one fell on the other.

The issue is a completely different one.

Ronaldo was getting his red card in the qualifying match. They overturned it in order for him to play the first match of the World Cup, but they didn't remove the penalty.

Qualifiers and World Cups themselves are completely individual tournaments with their own structure. So not everything from the qualifier carries over.

Balogun, on the other hand, is the first player since 1962 that doesn’t have to sit one out after a red card in the running tournament. Interestingly, the red card that was overturned in 1962 was also under public and presidential pressure.

The World Cup regulations themselves say on page 18/10.5.

If a player or team official is sent off as a result of a direct or indirect red card (second caution), they will automatically be suspended from their team’s subsequent match. In addition, further sanctions may be imposed.

There is no way in the ruleset to overturn this after the ref made his decision.

The rules are the rules, but the peasant rules don’t count for the King of the free world apparently.

He did what he always does. He grabbed Infantino by the pussy and made a deal. What is even more concerning is that he damaged the whole US Soccer team with this.

They could have won without Balogun. The team is perfectly capable of doing that.

If the players or coach had any spine and self-respect, they would bench Balogun for the game nonetheless. What message does it deliver to the world if he plays?

If they win, the whole world will look at them like, “Yeah, whatever. The US president won that game for them, and however far they might go is not because they worked hard for years to get to that point but because the president had to involve himself.”

How do you expect any soccer fan to have respect for America or the national soccer team ever again after this?

The sad thing is, this president has a track record to ruin sports for the average Joe for a living.

Let’s not forget how he was responsible for thousands of fans not being able to enjoy the NBA outside Madison Square Garden because the King rolled into town and all public viewing within a huge security perimeter around the venue was cancelled on short notice, so the King could have a nap behind bullet proof glass.

“The measure prohibits corporate entities from owning more than 350 existing single-family homes, although it does not require them to sell homes purchased before the measure became law.”

They don’t mention anything about foreign investments but China is trying to rein in their own overseas spending to boost national investment.

Carve outs: - Investors may purchase homes owned by other investors.

- There are additional exceptions related to previous contracts and legal obligations, or if the purchase is part of a loss-mitigation strategy.

There's a lot I don't understand here. How did they come up with 350? I doubt there are any people who own more than 10 houses for personal use, and this is 35x that.

What's to stop people from just making multiple corporate entities? Or investors below the cap buying properties and flipping them to institutional investors above the cap bypassing the cap entirely?

“Donald Trump’s blocking of Anthropic is capricious and chaotic” - current title

I don’t understand the posted title quote and assume it’s missing a lot of context or was misinterpreted as it’s a secondary attribution. “Mythos broke into almost all of our classified systems in hours”.

When you put it on those networks already and gave it compute?

(see other comment about HN titles). I think expecting an HN post title to match the article title is an overzealous interpretation of the fieldname ‘title’ in the HN submission form. Happy to be corrected if it’s right in the HN forum rules, but I’ve found highly upvoted posts to have an accurately descriptive title that is other than the source article’s title.

In other words, ontologically speaking, post.title -= article.title

I used to treat it as post.title = article.title, but the community taught me by example to cease being a purist.

Anyway article’s flagged so this is just pedantic at this point.

I was waiting for a comment to expand on this. It appears to be opt in but the opt out is not using the latest models unless I misunderstood it.
