Unfortunately, no, it's not working. I use Rustdesk all the time. I've found a way, but it's really stupid. I have a GL.iNet Comet to manage my headless machine. That unit supports microphone passthrough. I send my mac's mic through that to ubuntu. It's an awful solution hah, but it works. I'm able to use dictation through that on Ubuntu. I didn't buy the comet specifically for mic use. I found out after the fact that it was able to do it.

I've been using rustdesk for years. I love it.

Who wants to start a clan?

Nice! This is pretty inventive.

tks! are you using it for any use case?

everything that man says is absurd

What gets me the most is he always has to say everything is imminent. Like dude just make your grandiose predictions and leave the timeline undefined. Ppl would still probably throw cash at him. But he can't help himself. It's pathological.

100%!

Wow I not expecting to see that! I love it!!! Good work!

ooooh Not creepy at all. Can't wait for AI to be implemented in my toilet so I can have a stool sample analyzed every time I go to the bathroom.

Is that a reference to https://www.kohlerhealth.com/dekoda/?

hah had no idea this was a thing! Purchasing! Wife is gonna be weirded out.

It's called the SmartPipe™ and it's been available for at least 12 years.

hah Amazing. Ahead of it's time. How can I invest?

This can be done with any modern VR headset but pretty cool nonetheless. cheers

reading some of the comments i was expecting something really high end and polished, but yeah, this is something you could with a headset 1/10th the cost

I was expecting an app that works like the VR version of a laser indoor measuring tool. Where you hold a piece of wooden board and the VR tells you where it should go and then another person wearing a VR helmet attaches it to a post, also at sub-mm precision. Etc.

This can be done with the Google Cardboard :|

People were doing it on Cardboard 10 years ago. https://www.consumerreports.org/home-improvement-remodeling/...

10000% I've seen it done!

Seeing the title and the upvotes, I thought the author just discovered a use case that justifies the ~~$3500~~ $3700 price tag.

To say I am disappointed is an understatement.

Huh. In this case moving a single wall, or repositioning a single window, kitchen island, etc - would cost more than $3500.

The author isn't doing AR/mixed reality so they aren't showing that use case. You can do all of it on a cheaper headset, too.

VR is actually better for architectural visualization

Great, then you can use even cheaper headsets that don't do AR instead.

hrm.. I guess back to 5.6 Sol for me

I wish I had dinosaur type money. If I did, I'd probably not buy a dinosaur tho.
