People moan because it’s empty corporate misdirection that misplaces and deflects blame from the actual problem. More than half the plastic in the sea is industrial fishing refuse but sure, the straw in your smoothie is the problem.
I think people just don't like change, and the minor inconvenience turns it into something to moan about. Along with it being on trend to be cynical about everything.
If we just finger point nothing gets done. Yes, industrial fishing destroys the oceans in more ways that one, but that is a global problem, and global consensus on anything is in short supply at the moment.
Probably the best thing to do in the case of fishing waste is to stop eating fish (or pick the source very carefully). That might be an inconvenience as well though...
A couple mil a day is 730 million per year, more than Lebron has made in his entire career, so I flat out don’t believe you and I don’t think you understand numbers.
I’m sorry, I find this really difficult to follow. You seem to alternate between using pledgers and participants, and it’s not clear what a pledge is versus a bid, or how pledgers make multiple pledges?
Is there a real world example of this sort of funding model you can point to?
We have to start somewhere. And I am not sure that you understand what the word sovereign means since it’s entirely disconnected from how “good” something is.
Your employer has fundamentally undermined the stable functioning of society by systematically provoking outrage, division and hate. You have contributed to a world where we can’t even agree if measles is bad.
We're small enough of a team that everyone can review anything (with a bit of domain expertise in there). It's less of an issue of who is reviewing and more of an issue of getting anyone to spend a minute to look at it. More of a human problem. Would be curious what people to do remedy this.
