My son started with Scratch and did that for a few years. Then he tried Pico-8 when he was about 10 years old and got really interested on it. About a year ago, he tried Godot, and has been using it since. He is mostly a self-learner so he was able to pick up each of these on his own. I only gave him suggestions on what to try.

I would recommend starting with Scratch as many have suggested. It is easier to pick up than other options, and kids can always move onto something more complex later on.

There is also Arcade MakeCode (https://arcade.makecode.com) which is similar to Scratch.

Some of my son's projects:

- Godot: https://arandompsi.itch.io

- Scratch (rather old): https://scratch.mit.edu/users/codewithliam/projects/

Did you mean hantavirus? According to the CDC [0] squirrels do not carry that virus.

https://www.santafenewmexican.com/news/local_news/woman-says...

A Canadian public-health Web site says although deer mice are the primary carrier of hantavirus, "all rodents including squirrels, rats, chipmunks and other kinds of mice should be treated as if they might carry the virus."

Now I am confused, Which Experts™ should I listen to.

Those Experts™ all started life as egg-spurts just like us. Just do a bit more research and trust your heart and judgment. Generally, the method for disease decisions (epidemiology) is to look up the statistics for your area. You may not even have any Hanta virus cases nearby. And plague is extremely rare. Field rodents aren't as likely to carry disease as city vermin. I wouldn't worry too much about rural squirrels. They are cute and generally eat nuts, not insects. It is far less likely for a squirrel to contract a contagion because the squirrel isn't eating trash like pigeons or rats.

They have recounted the votes in Georgia like 2 or 3 times. Wisconsin was also recounted once. I didn't check the other states.

Do you have any suggestions for guitar lesson sites?

https://www.justinguitar.com/

Tons of free content on his site. Justin is a great teacher.

Thank you! I will check out the side with my kiddo.

How old is your kid? Justin Guitar is good for anyone who is self motivated. I think guitar is tough for young children, and has a higher initial learning curve than piano. My kid is 6 and I'm just teaching him simple tunes on one or two strings for now.

I also get the flu shot every year but I always catch the flu.

The second link is indeed in Poland, noticed the signs in Polish (https://youtu.be/enTQhNx_jpg?t=109).

> Nissan claims the new Leaf’s 40 kWh battery will provide 150 miles of range under EPA testing and 400km (248.5 miles) under the Japanese JC08 cycle

Impossible with the current Texas governor.

I wouldn't be so sure, if Rex Tillerson was in favor of staying in Paris, why wouldn't the governor of Texas?

In case nobody noticed, former TX gov. Rick Perry did speak out on this, and he was in favor of the Paris accord, also.

Shocking that Trump would go against the current head of Exxon, the ex-head of Exxon who is also his Sec. of State, and another very conservative oil-state politician in Rick Perry.

I've read some informed speculation that this was done in a fit of pique because of criticism from Angela Merkel: http://talkingpointsmemo.com/edblog/paris-and-the-battle-of-...

"informed speculation" aka BS.

It couldn't have had anything to do with the 22 senators petitioning him to drop it or the campaign promise he made...

Despite that, he was still considering staying in and reportedly has been torn on the subject for weeks now.

I wish he had remained in Paris, too, but they link is just utter drivel.

Trump doesn't give a shit what those 22 senators have to say.

There is absolutely nothing in that opinion piece to back up the author's claim.

The author didn't actually make a "claim". Josh Marshall was speculating, and he labeled it as such.

But there is quite a bit of support for this line of reasoning now, after the fact, actually.

I believe Tillerson wanted to stay in Paris so the United States would be involved in the program and shape it's direction. I'd say that's quite a bit different than voluntarily taking on the pledges for Texas.

Maybe Abbott will surprise us though

Have you been to Texas?

Given the amount of oil related industries there, it's not in the state's interest to regulate carbon, which is mostly a proxy for taxing oil and gas.

Additionally, it is a state with a large hard conservative population. They hate climate change.

True, but the oil will run out. Ask the former coal mine towns what happens then.

Like many populous states, Texas is filled with large cities with very liberal voters.

Also, white/anglos are predicted to lose the plurality in Texas in 2020.

The Texas governor has constituents and voters that hold him accountable.

Rex doesn't have to try to get re-elected.

Yes, but not always. He opposed the government option. Quoting the article [0]:

> ... "if the bill remains what it is now, I will not be able to support a cloture motion before final passage." In other words, Lieberman will support a filibuster. "I can't see a way in which I could vote for cloture on any bill that contained a creation of a government-operated-run insurance company," Lieberman said.
