if you were on the development team of that game I send my biggest thanks out to you. it was one of the few things me and my (hard to bond with) father bonded over growing up. We would play I think ..course 2 or 3 with the insanity level bikes ALL night trying to get out times down to something like 1 1/2 minutes. within ms of each other's times. run after run. so thanks.

Thank you! I’m cracking up because that’s something we all did while building it, too. It’s part of how the insanity bikes ended up so hilariously overpowered.

Ideally at least a few pages in length. I'm trying to limit scroll reading by printing out talks, lectures, long form articles that lend themselves well to paper. But, I don't know where to find these gems like the linked one that showed in today's Tony Hoare main thread.

So what's your favorite(s)?

From the linked lecture, which I printed out to read as part of a new less is more screen time management regime (where I print out longer form writing for reading) I found this very interesting tidbit in the context of Tony having made a delivery miscalculation and his team failing to deliver on one of their products; which is where I think a lot people are today with LLMs:

"Each of my managers explained carefully his own theory of what had gone wrong and all the theories were different. At last, there breezed into my office the most senior manager of all, a general manager of our parent company, Andrew St. Johnston. I was surprised that he had even heard of me.

"You know what went wrong?" he shouted--he always shouted -- "You let your programmers do things which you yourself do not understand." I stared in astonishment. "

Zero trust policy is slowly making its way into every day life. Maybe for the best? Trust the people you can talk to, feel, see.

Or just engage with whatever it is a post or article has written, at least if provenance isn't relevant to action you'd take on it.

Within humans I don't think, for every interaction with the any form of output, "Well, did the human do it themselves or merely pay some other human to make all the decisions?"

Walking into someone's home I'm not thinking "Wow, beautiful decorating and design aesthetic. I'll have to be sure to find out if it was done by an interior design contractor with a free hand in making all decisions so I know how to calibrate my level of enjoyment of it"

Step one reframe the problem not as an attack or accusation, instead as an observation.

Step two request justification, apply pressure

Step three give them an out by working with you

How shall to frame if there is actually a problem, which is not only an observation?

what do you do when they are not operating in good faith?

One of the effects of communicating this way is that people who are not operating in good faith will tend to quickly out themselves, and often getting them to do that is enough.

I hate this sort of communication, it's very manipulative. If I have to justify my decisions to every single person that asks something of me then I couldn't get any work done.

I think he is saying where is the creativity in the AA+ space. Which still might be a lack of depth / breadth of search, or platform exclusive content. Not everyone can own all the consoles.

The thing I got from reading the majority of these emails is Epstein / trump connection was not that strong later years. I feel JE humored trump to a degree and disliked him to an even larger degree. He may have initially had strong relations in the beginning but he was NOT pleased he was winning the presidency at all. He mentioned multiple times references to dirt on DT and even at one point there was the question did Trump set him up. Not to say JE did no wrong, cause the evidence is 100% there for that but it's super interesting having read the actual files to see the various media spins on all sides. If anything though it's led me to believe there are much stronger ties to Russia with DT than I thought before. (Palm Beach House, the casino, models coming from those areas etc).

What evidence of doing wrong exactly? Is there non circumstantial evidence?

I read through 80% of them last night by myself. I mean, I didn't go to bed until 3am but spread across a handful of agents? yeah you could do it in an hour.

This is what they actually use: https://github.com/flavorjones/loofah

Got a chuckle out of me. lol
