There's no THE greatest country; every country can be great.
US&A has been the escape hatch for oppressive regime in China/Russia/... for many years, young people from there seek freedom in US, instead of fight for freedom in their own.
Individual freedom is great but collectively they made people who can't migrate have less and less freedom. Some expected US&A compensate that with trade, military and twitter, which all turned out to be disasters.
I'm sorry for anyone stuck in those processes, but for long term US&A giving up on Green card / dual citizenship is not necessarily a bad thing for the world.

Damned if we don’t allow people in and, apparently, damned also if we do allow some in
Your strange argument would actually support this policy: stop letting these people into the USA so that they stay in their own repressive countries and are forced to reform them.
yeah i think theres a lot of ux conventions that are starting to get figured out, but we do want to be different. At least right now most dont well support remote workspace, issue tracking, or review. I bet most of the current ux patterns will look very different in a year
it's nothing new. young people are ambitious and internet has been "claimed" by "last gen".
I have a project with only ~600 stars. someone approached me want to contribute an adjacent project to be part of "official suite" and do rev share on my donation, and she already purchased a domain with a different TLD.
Fortunately, she agreed with my recommendation of using her brand and maintain her own donation jar, she still owns that domain but not using it so far.
CEO observes performative work, and his inference will be that means more people need to be fired. Let only the AI native, customer obsessed 10x engineers(/ AI swarm managers) remain.
