Public trust is a real thing and varies massively by country. America is notably extremly low on this metric

The momentum China already gained, and gaining more every day is well beyond anything in the west. Plus if you consider the position they are rising from, its properly meteoric. Nobody knows future, but its rather easy to continue projection with current, or even a bit slower pace and within 1 or 2 decades, situation will be pretty clear from any objective perspective.

Above is purely technological/process progress. Add US making enemy of whole world in one brilliant move, something that is practically irreversible in upcoming decades, and situation is clear. Military (without ammo) alone won't give you much negotiating power. LLMs can be replicated elsewhere with rather little cost, and soon some small bleeding edge advantage will be largely meaningless for most practical tasks.

It doesn't even matter what near future brings, this is settled and no amount of denial from US or self-patting is changing that.

Like entire military setup for all armies globally is now incorrect, US military became almost obsolete overnight due to running out of important ammo and rockets. Europe military ramping up. Whole world currently hates what US has become due to government you voted, and slowly but surely veering towards China. I never thought I would say this but right now China is much better strategic partner for Europe than US can be. And compared to everybody else I dont see any significant chaning coming in next decade or two, this is what US had become, its not one person or a family clan issue.

More good reliable friends is always better, and fuck the unreliable backstabbing ones as much as possible and reasonable, future will sort out details. World is not static, alliances change and we may revert in future if US population decides it wants to be ruled over by more reasonable, respectable and kind people.

Interesting case, even after reading its not clear to me if he was exemplary revenge one-shot by USG (expecting big contracts from parts of government which they promptly cancelled since he wasn't willing to hand over customer data without court order, so stocks tanked) or really did some nefarious things.

But generally, one does not fuck with / reject a government that is expected to give one lucrative contracts worth >hundreds of millions. Absolute objectivity ain't a feature of mankind generally, is it.
