How Condor differentiate itself from Ranch?

Ranch is merely a socket acceptor pool. Condor takes care of framing and buffering, also.

Doesn't native erlang handle that? With {packet, Len} and {active, once}?

Not the buffering.

You can set a user level buffer size of the socket driver, and a receive buffer size (see http://erlang.org/doc/man/inet.html).

Why is another level of buffering needed?

Any recommendations for scaling Postgresql's best practices? Really appreciate it.

Why not start a Kickstarter for it?

Does she/he really like street food better? If so all the best to him/her.

Is Akka supposed to do what OTP is doing for Erlang?

Near as I can tell, Akka is supposed to be Erlang for Java/Scala. OTP would be a layer on top of Akka.

It looks like they've got OTP-like functionality: http://doc.akka.io/docs/akka/2.2.0/scala/fault-tolerance.htm...

As far as I can tell Akka is the same thing to Scala/JVM as OTP is to Erlang/BEAM.

Well I always thought that Scala itself is supposed to be the Erlang for jvm.

>CMS-style js libraries like Angular JS

CMS as in Content Management Framework?

Oh drat. I meant MVC, wasn't thinking straight when I wrote that.

And alcohol of course.

And for the modern day drug sold at every corner a.k.a. coffee

Which contains the alkaloid, caffeine!

But surely you jest! Of course, you allude to hashish and opium.

No, the word "alcohol" (like many English words starting with "al") is of Arabic origin.

alright then!

Actually, al-cohol roughly means "the blue", referring to the blue tint of many alcohol-based make-ups used in the Near East in ancient and medieval times.

The word, yes, but the etymology is more related to the idea of alcohol being an 'essence' of something.

I wonder if it's feasible to hack the javascript engines (v8, spidermonkey, ...) to support languages CoffeeScript? In case the answer is positive how come nobody's doing that?

>they bought a good number of 50s era jazz cds to listen to in their bus.

It's may be because Rod Morgenstien (their drummer) is basically a Jazz Fusion musician.
