Don’t think in zero sum terms. OpenAI can’t burn money infinitely, efficient models are better for everyone

Nice catch, AA only shows max effort by default and I got disappointed thinking it's a token guzzler though: https://artificialanalysis.ai/models/claude-opus-5-5?models=...

Not sure about how adaptive reasoning works though as they mention adaptive reasoning for every reasoning level

There are rumors of Opus 5.5 launching on Tuesday so maybe it due to that? Previously as well there have been incidents just before launch.

Do you know where these rumors are coming from? I keep seeing posts like yours on HN and Reddit, which, yes, literally confirms there are rumors, but I can't tell whether they're based on anything.

All their API routes for non existing models return 404 and when there's a new model it returns 403.

I follow Leo for the rumors, he has been pretty accurate but again they are rumors so nothing is guaranteed. I don't know his sources. https://x.com/synthwavedd

Oh jeez PLEASE opus 5 is the dumbest opus I have ever used. Please make it go away. I lost so much of my hair because of it.

I wish it were possible to beat Opus 5 over the head with a copy of Orwell's Politics and the English Language sometimes.

No it’s Chinese state who is preventing founders from leaving China https://www.cnbc.com/amp/2026/06/12/meta-reportedly-begins-d...

just to be clear, they did this to make sure they follow the governments order instead of running away to Singapore and going on with the acquisition. they will most likely get released when the unwinding process is complete. its not a general national security thing where AI founders cant leave the country.

This is an awfully naive view of the Chinese government, they are clearly not stupid and after seeing what Meta did with thing with Outlier it is clear they will not let the founders out of their grip for quite a while

It actually is. For example, Deepseek higher ups already had similar implications in the Chinese underground news. CCP has great control over the corporations.

True, I have found it to be valid as well

Hiring and job search has been so hard and AI has amplified the existing problems instead of solving any.

Wdym, cant you just litter your applications with buzzwords and other bs to automatically get a high score in these systems?

HR market is basically an early google rigging era, where you can place hundreds of keywords at the footer (white text on white background) to start popping up on random searches.

I have been at both side of the market. And it sucks so bad at both ends. Companies which deeply care about next hire are struggling to hire and actual great people looking out are outcompeted by AI slop and AI bulk applying.

It is actually a very hard to solve problem.

The mind blower is that this spam and slop is just lowering the job market to the quality of every other capitalist market. Poor hiring manager has to look through 1000 applicants, 950 of which are spam? How many ads are shoved down your throat every day, and how many products are you actually looking for info on?

Chickens coming home to roost.

True :(

Claude launched Managed Agents which fulfills our usecase! https://platform.claude.com/docs/en/managed-agents/overview

Interesting, let me check it out

Looks great!

Great model until it gets nerfed. I wish they had a higher paid tier to use non nerfed model.

Bad news, John Google told me they already quantized it immediately after the benchmarks were done and it sucks now.

I miss when Gemini 3.1 was good. :(

I think there is a pattern it will always be nerfed the few weeks before launching a new model. Probably because they are throwing a bunch of compute at the new model.

Yeah maybe that but atleast let us know about this Or have dynamic limits? Nerfing breaks trust. Though I am not sure if they actually nerf it intentionally. Haven't heard from any credible source. I did experience in my workflow though.

What are you talking about?
