so pre-conditions for the job must be - know swimming and have a SCUBA gear?

Not necessarily, a non-SCUBA trained electrician may choose to bid the job with the condition that the customer drains the pool before the electrician starts their work.

I have some electricians that work for me with rope access training and certifications, sometimes we bid a job using rope access instead of a hydraulic lift if it’s cheaper to do it that way. It all depends on the project and your competition.

That posture looks painfully uncomfortable for the wrist.

> I then linked my Facebook, IG and others to this new Meta account so that Muse can access them.

You completed the circle!

and tomorrow they may ban his account or ask for selfie because fb doesn't like bots lol.

> Way longer than that. The first KH-11 satellites that Hubble shares its design with were in orbit in the late 1970s.

That's all fascinating stuff! What are some books that cover the start of the pursuit of those advanced machines? Can I say warfare machinery? Was it the end of WWII and a race to self-protect, was it the start of cold war, establishment of NATO, or a particular administration?

There is likely something more recent or more specific, but I read and enjoyed 'This New Ocean: The Story of the First Space Age', Burrows when it came out in the 90's.

> They simply couldn't care less anymore about telling better lies than their predecessors.

4 years ago, people didn't fill their pockets on the current scale, and they also didn't pitch their own businesses under the cover of national interests.

They absolutely did and have been doing so for centuries. Spoils system and all that. For a while they just got better at hiding it.

> One reason might be the share price has collapsed and he has no confidence in it coming back

Not sure how you made that assessment!

52 Week Range: 215.68 - 473.10

Yesterday, it closed at 410.44. Clearly, very far away from collapse. In fact, it made a solid comeback (almost doubled from lows).

> I use local LLMs on my Mac Mini.

which ones do you use?

I use the following models:

  - Qwen3.5 9B
  - Qwen3.6 35B A3B
  - Qwen3.8 27B
  - Gemma 4 26B A4B
  - Gemma 31B
  - Muse Glimmer 30B
I have 48G.

The MacMini is used solely for inference. llama.cpp + llama-swap.

People are saying local models are crap and serves no purposes.

I use them to help me spell check, write emails, write text messages, write JIRA tickets, write PR comments, etc.

I also use them in coding agents to complete different tasks.

I find them quite useful!

Thanks! I have two mac minis: one with 8 gb and the other with 24 gb (left with 17 gb useable ram); I can't run any open model on them. So, ordered a Mac 5 pro with 128 GB. Can't wait for its arrival.

128G of RAM? I envy you.

You will be able to run some pretty impressive models locally. Good for you.

I'm a small fish.

Some people here have 640 GB of RAM https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=49621754

> Mandated and forced on everyone.

Nope. It's a marketplace. Your above argument is perfectly applicable to it as well.

Imagine wearing Zuckoff merchandise to a Meta onsite interview or at their Connect conf :-)

He came to know that after 2 years of going neck deep into AI? and didn’t listen to anyone else, while we engineers knew it all along.

He also infected that omarchy OS guy. Hopefully he sees the cure on the wall :-)
