Xbox-type controllers have the left stick where the dpads are. PS-type controllers are symmetric.

I, too, agree that the symmetric layout is the correct one.

When did Udacity fell off the MOOC discourse? That's my first experience with MOOCs; have fond memories learning robotics with Sebastian Thrun there. I used to prefer its short lesson and frequent quiz too.

American is in the title, but really, it's saying every English-speaker is at least bilingual.

If you're already n-lingual with English as one of them, you can bump it to n+1 :)

Who came up with this term? There's no reverse in that definition. I'd expect a reverse acquihire to be something like windsurf getting Google people and absorbing google. Maybe something like Boeing and McDonnell Douglas.

It's actually just doing the hire but omitting the acqui. Maybe truncated acquihire if they had to have acquihire in the term.

I’d think a reverse acquihire would be Apple buying Next where Next mostly takes over Apple (Jobs coming back, OpenSTEP becoming the base of macOS)

What nostalgia!I haven't played any since one of the early 3DS ones. And there's an incoming one for the switch too!

One of my favorite series from when I was younger. I only ever played the DS ones, not the 3DS ones. That was the 2008-2011 timeframe -- 14-17 years ago!

The Chevaline! It's probably possible to build The Primer, and the John Zaibatsu doesn't seem very outlandish too.

But guys, that book wasn't a manual.

This article from half a year ago has photos and diagrams https://spectrum.ieee.org/euv-fel

This is the first time I hear about "metric mega", and I hang out a lot here, where Americans use their units without explanation.

Rust-sharp? That's tetanus.

Fun fact I didn't learn until adulthood: rust itself doesn't carry tetanus. What does is dirt. A rusty nail can pierce through clothing and skin because it is a nail, and can be assumed to have been in the dirt because it is rusty. It's "only" a useful approximation.

It's funny. Le Chat's gaslighting me in French. Claims Mistral develops ChatGPT when answering in French, but OpenAI when in English.
