Hrmm... how do you switch between views since they're triggered by hover on the desktop? It might actually work better on a mobile device since the hover switching is actually annoying, and would have been much better implemented on click instead.

Huh? Gruber's fame, such as it is, originates from the fact that for years he has been writing a blog filled with mostly-Apple-related stuff that lots of people (mostly Apple users) like reading. Daring Fireball has been a big noise in Apple-land since before there even was an App Store.

Gruber never had an app rejected and he doesn't have any apps in the AppStore. Are you sure you're thinking of the same site?

He's posted quite a lot about some App Store rejections. I expect some people first heard about him in that context.

No such post. Gruber hasn't suggested that he's submitted anything to the App Store. He has written several posts about others' rejected apps.

The images pixelate even in full screen mode, it's hardly designed for high rez print-outs. Quite hard to print with the hover effect.

What if it works only in Safari? Apple has done all the hard work, and now what all-other browser vendors have to do is, implement these open standards Apple has developed. Apple do not plan to allow Java,Qt,Flash and all these unnecessary platforms on their devices. Safari is the alternative Apple has. I dont see any reason why other vendors shouldn't embrace Apple's open standards

Tried on my iphone and iPad. The demos work at low framerate and is kind of slow. But its just a mobile device. I am not really expecting cpu intensive html5 application to work on these light devices. Thats what my macpro is for.

Yeah, but Apple seem to be suggesting that you can use HTML5 for nice looking (near native animation) effects on these devices.

Do they really? Or do they realize that it's going to be some years before HTML5 is efficient enough and just want native apps?

Apple may not allow Java, Flash, Qt and all that on their platform unlike Google's Android(which is open to everything from anyone!). Apple might want to make sure that webkit replaces these unnecessary platforms by implementing exclusive and innovative features. And everyone is like bitching about Apple trying to be the internet monopoly and all that. I am sick and tired of all this Apple hate!

Did you read the thread? At least 3 people (at the time of this reading) have done it. You have to change the user agent setting.

How can you say they aren't blocking Chrome if you need to say you aren't Chrome to run it?

The claim was that Chrome is more advanced. You can run Chrome and verify that it can't do the more advanced features.
