i understand that, but i also didn’t feel facism taking hold before trump. probably a bad lumping of things, but my experience with id.me has been largely positive.

i can’t read the article to see what the specifics are, but assuming it’s essentially the square-cube law it doesn’t mean giant creatures can’t exist, it’s that small creatures can’t scale to be giants while being unchanged.

again i’m guessing, but if the conclusion is something like “if giant humans existed, X, Y and Z wouldn’t work”. then a “giant humans” would have to be something decidedly non-human.

the people writing it are doing it for themselves probably. i wouldn’t expect it to survive a code review. the necessity of using esoteric bash features or syntax is a pretty good smell that you should be using something else imo.

When I still used Claude outside of work, my CLAUDE.md was just a symlink to my AGENTS.md.

Problem with that is that if the agent starts to browse the contents of the repo, it may read both AGENTS and CLAUDE.md.

Just @AGENTS.md should be enough, as @s is CLAUDE.md are inlined (and !`ls` are executed)

anyone talking about hw performance is not the intended market. if you have a gaming pc, like building systems, etc, you are not the intended market.

this is for folks who want steam games in their living room and dont want to build their own system.

I've built my own PC several times and am a hardcore Linux enthusiast.

However at this point in my life, the best gaming experience i get is from XBox live/online subscription. I got to the browser, click on a game and start playing without caring for anything else. The most complicated thing i have to do is connect an Xbox gamepad for games that require it (I prefer keyboard +mouse whenever possible).

I wish Steam had something like that for the games I've bought. I've got several games in the library, I cant play some of them because currently I have a Mac m4.

yeah, so this was exactly my scenario. i have an xbox and ps5, but bought a steamdeck about 6 months ago to play indie and windows games... its been utterly amazing. i dont care about specs, or graphics, or framerates (within reason). playing on steam still feels like it did when i was young.

maybe im misunderstanding, but you exactly like the person that a steam machine is for.

Just five years ago this opinion was heresy on HN. Those of us who still remembered their behavior in the 80s/90s were belittled.

Well the vacuum cleaner joke is very old, was true then, is true now, has continued to be true despite some people having the wool pulled over their eyes and thinking that Microsoft was no longer the enemy at some point. They have always been the enemy. Stay on your toes, don’t let them in.

I always wondered what the division of pro-MS astroturfing was betweeen:

a) Waggener Edstrom (now: WE Communications) or similar

b) Microsoft employees

c) Third-party Microsoft-only developers/IT people (with an obvious vested financial interest)
