You will notice that 31 is less than 40

There is an entire class of people who are uneducated and don't work and have not created any open source projects yet are still able to have friends.

Children, they call them.

It does not last, though

What doesn’t last, their friends? That’s just because the grow up and get jobs and if they have kids spend all their free time taking care of them.

If I didn’t have a job right now I would be driving all around the country catching up with every single person I haven’t been able to talk to. I would go spend a couple weeks with each of them and also spend time camping along the way.

I would love to know what the Venn diagram of people who complain about people not understanding their code, to people who can't describe the boot process of their system is.

"their code" == code they actually write, that originates with them, "their system" == anything, from gentoo to something off-the-shelf

So the real question would be, how many people designing / implementing the boot process of any given system don't understand what what's going on.

Someone understanding something and the codebase being coherent are different things. I can only think that you have been lucky with your career placements if you are making that statement.

What you are saying is leaning on 2 premises that seem to not hold water 1. Code written by people is always more readable and maintainable than LLM code 2. Code written by an LLM is always less readable and maintainable

Can you really make those statements in all intellectual honesty?

False assumptions. The human doesn't have to always be more readable, to be usually more readable. And vice versa. LLMs given the opportunity to generate a "feature" almost always generates more complexity than a software engineer would develop.
