Kerala has a strong pool of high-quality but underpaid software engineers and some of the most active FOSS communities in India. Unfortunately, in today's capitalist landscape, many talented engineers from middle-class backgrounds are compelled to move to other states like Bengaluru for better-paying opportunities.

Ah. This can finally help identify fake screenshots.

Traffic from Hacker News, I guess. :-)

Is this one of those laws that's there just to exist but people don't actually follow it? Like torrenting is illegal in India but people still torrent.

These people send enforcers to homes.

Worth noting that these "enforcers" have absolutely zero legal powers. You can just tell them to go away and shut the door.

They rely on intimidation and confusion about their legal powers to trick people.

Yeah and they prey on elderly mainly.

It's a tax. A weird specialized tax. But a tax. Taxes are enforced in most countries.

I need an LTT review on this.

Linus has been very upfront about investing in Framework, so I am not suggesting he is doing anything untoward, but I still assume there is some unconscious biased in his organisations reviews of competing laptops.

No, we need a notebookcheck.net review instead. LTT doesn't know anything about Linux anyway.

Write them or LTT about, maybe you'll get one.

How will this impact FTTx?

It won't, as all of these standards are shorter than the necessary pole-to-house link.

If you have a situation which needs relatively high-speed short-range networking between subsystems and is space-constrained for the wiring -- inside a vehicle, mostly -- these will be helpful.

Fiber is great at everything except installation and robustness, and if you know the distance you'll be going and/or can coil up extra, installation is solved with pre-terminated connectors.
