The software I create for myself has improved a lot.
I also see a lot of improvements in current software and games and fast iterations. But nothing new that is revolutionary.
yeah i was browsering the oneline shop and find out Nokia dont release smart phones anymore. they used to have several series with Anriod and i have one, it's pretty good.
High tech industry couldn't compete against the Chinese, the Ukraine War killed a huge chunk of export industries, aging population, successive governments shifting money from one welfare pocket to another, escalating unemployment eroding tax base and now when the money has ran out, aggressive austerity measures.
Also, earlier Nokia got sniped by Microsoft and profitable wood industries were decimated by transition from paper magazines (high quality, high value add paper) to digital (no paper) --> industry now makes pulp, which is low-value-add.
People keep making comments like this about Nokia, but is there really any chance they’d still exist as an independent phone/operating system maker if the Microsoft buyout didn’t occur?
I didn't even know Finland had a right-wing party. maybe to most people, the stereotype of Nordic countries like Finland is just high social welfare, left-wing, and freezing cold."
The first 50 hours of NMS are really great but then you start to learn the patterns, even though it is a randomized/procedural, at some point it becomes predictable and boring. The other problem is that the battles are boring, they lack something and building big ships and bases feels pointless.
Lmao, come on dude, anyone whos used these tools for research knows it makes them lazier, less interested and dumber. You really want disease researchers become sloppers too?
How I miss the old days simplicity. One php
File you just uploaded with ftp and that was the deployment. Now you need to know so many frameworks and processes to deploy a simple web app. It’s overwhelming and I get anxious because It’s so hard to choose what to learn.
My current project is one file with html, css,js all in one. I am using Vue, stripe, and three.js. To deploy I git push and then render handles all the rest (including provisioning a free certificate).
Honestly it’s easier now to do things like that than 15 years ago when I first started.
