(quick note: i'm the OP, original account launchstack_dev got locked so posting from this one)
ha, yeah the "expensive lesson" framing is real. 50% upfront helps a lot but you still have the other 50% hanging out there after delivery. i've talked to freelancers who collect 50% upfront religiously and still get ghosted on the back half. it's better than nothing for sure though. the real question is what happens between "files sent" and "final payment received"... that gap is where things go sideways.
Tried and deleted within 10 mins. The user interface does not rise to the level of complexities of modern life. The cutesy bear character makes it seem like a child’s toy. This needs to have a desktop component, at least for setup. It should ingest my calendars for the past year as a way of learning how I schedule my day, optimize for that, and slowly suggest changes to improve my day. Do not call blocks of time “tasks.” I have dozens of tasks to complete each day, not 5-6. Consider my input and try again. People need this type of app: just not Taskybear in its current form.
It’s been “not a war” for so long, and we don’t have a good word for it. “Grey zone”, “hybrid war”, in Zoroastrian terms these are druj-heavy. Trump himself chooses druj.
But the force of good benefits from not using the word “war”. Trump himself gains war powers if Congress uses the word. Those powers will be turned inward.
And Hegseth has dabbled in duality himself. What started as a Department of Defense became a Department of War. If you study what the Japanese military thought of Pearl Harbor —- Hegseth is using that strategy. Hegseth is constrained in that he can only choose strategies Obama would reject. And soon he’ll need to explain that it was really about defense all along.
Find someone dumb enough to pay you 1 cent on the first day of a programming project, 2 cents on the second, day, 4 cents on the third, and so on, doubling the amount every day. Then drag the project out by blaming it on scope creep like we always do
