OK that may be the long term goal, but what is the short term goal?

What is the goal of landing this rocket stage on earth?

Is it to use this model to land on another planet, or is it to use this model to reduce costs and reuse the first stage of the rocket?

Short term and primary goal? Significantly cut down the costs of access to space. But long term goal is landing and taking off from another worlds, and this project produces important engineering insights that may prove useful for that goal. SpaceX has a habit of hitting multiple targets at once.

It's the later. Every other possible use of the technology is just speculation at this point.

I have seen smaller ISPs use something similar to admin/c0mcast on every single device while using equipment too cheap to include an access list for remote management.

ISP network support for one.

I have been around professional golf my whole life and have seen many hole in ones. No one ever purchased me a drink. I have made a few hole in ones, and no one has ever even asked me to buy them one.

I have heard of this "tradition", but after travelling week to week with the PGA tour for years and playing golf with a multitude of new people every week, and have never even heard of someone buying more than three drinks for their playing partners.

Well, perhaps a hole in one is a bigger deal for amateurs, so they are more likely to honour the tradition. The article give the odds of getting a hole in one as 7,500 to 1 for a pro and 12,500 for an amateur, which doesn't seem like a huge difference, but presumably pros will play so much more they'll get many more holes in one.

This should be the outage ticket number if anybody has a need for it.

The SSL key is only for the transport correct? My assumption is that the data in storage would still be encrypted by the customer's private keys. The USG could then obtain the private keys of the customer by watching the decrypted SSL traffic, and is also why the gag order would be very important to the case.

I think this is a pretty big misunderstanding by the author of the article.

So.... $1.2 B or $78 M?

Just like Narus' main product was aggregating raw Internet Transmission Records from telco switches and turning them into customer and peer billing data for network usage?

No, Amdocs does billing software, which is precisely as unexciting as it sounds. CDRs contain a motherload of metadata (who called whom, how long etc), but have zero content about the actual content of the call, and they're generated by the other systems that feed into the billing system so their contents can't be changed.

Why is this not perjury? Kinda serious.

>Perjury, also known as forswearing, is the willful act of swearing a false oath or of falsifying an affirmation to tell the truth, whether spoken or in writing, concerning matters material to an official proceeding.

Is he under oath? Does it rely on interpretation or perception of the facts? I'd love for everyone one last of these crooks to lose every lifeline left in their lives, left to flip burgers and to live on the spoils of their own work, but if they've gotten away with this much, WHAT court is going to find them punishable? I really can't imagine anyone involved having a tougher life after being found taking our country for advantage, like has been done, and that is extremely and deeply crushing.

Was he under oath to tell the truth at that press conference? If not, it's not perjury, just ordinary lying.

> If not, it's not perjury, just ordinary lying.

Even so, such a lie when delivered by PotUS might constitute a high crime and/or misdemeanor.
