Say you received 1,000 when graduating high school. You then got a job making 100/month, signed a lease and moved out of the house. You have expenses of 180/month. How long before you are destitute?
I suppose one man's regulatory capture is balanced by another man's monopolistic behemoth pushing out a competitor that doesn't have an alternate revenue stream.
This is the beauty of Eve. Suck rocks for ore while watching movies. Solo/team hunting pvp. Venture capitalist. Space Trucker. Honest Questor or other PVE solo/team player. Absolute troll who creates a roleplay justification to being the worst of bastards to newbies (but just inside the rules). So many playstyles.
I liked the stealth game as well. Work your way in a stealthy ship deep into Nullsec and do your thing - whether that thing is a bunny rabbit of a frigate designed to find and steal cookies and outwit the fox, or a stealth bomber that hides near the cookie jar to squash the unsuspecting. And both of these have to find a way to get back to civilization with the lootz.
I let it grow as interior fencing. It provides a nice environment for wild dewberries as well. And, of course, it is a never-ending fight to keep it from taking over the entire ranch. Love/hate.
It only matters if Apple doesn't care how many people develop for their platform. You say 'People will do whatever...'. Sure, some will. Some won't. Some have to. Would you want your platform to be skewed in any way towards those that 'have to'?
The libertarian and bog standard answers agree in this case = you don't need to know how, we don't need you to be the decision maker.
Why would I ever import from a supplier whose only positive is price, if I have to go to extra effort and expense - making them no longer competitive in any respect?
