Regarding weeding, by virtue of the precision overhead watering the weeds are likely to only grow at the base of the planted crops - how would it differentiate between the two (or more)?

There are sensors designed for broadacre cropping that will pick weeds out of crop.[0]

As well as sensors that will pickup weeds from dirt.[1]

This would be in the middle of those two problems. There isn't a dense crop to pick the weeds out of, but it's probably slightly too dense to just pick them up from the dirt.

If just a single digit % of the population took more than passive/peaceful stance then it would be game over. As I recall from studies the Nazis took control with far less than 50% support (I want to say < 30%).

They're trying keep mfg in the UK and the unit price-volumes are too low (they're likely playing super conservative with their orders).

There are other elephants in the room as well...

Truth. Ran a dev shop at an F500, salary + bonus I would get $170 in a good year. Learned the game after a few years and struck out on my own (began moonlighting to reduce the risk). 1st year was $150k and fast forward to 2015 - $430k. I soon found that W2 is the absolute worst method to take compensation (topic for another day).

I am far less stressed from the dev shop days, but 80h/w still happens at times when projects go long and another kicks off. I travel 1-2 weeks month (sometimes 3) though that's an unavoidable fact of life no matter which path I take.

I find it interesting how most of the women posses masculine facial structure while the men appear fairly normal (aside from cultural dress, makeup (or lack of), and hair styles). I wonder what selection bias was at play or perhaps self-selection.

Young boys brought to police outposts were quite common - it was a disgusting practice, though in the parade of despicable acts by all sides you became numb. Most of my memories are hazy at best, but at times something I see, hear, or smell finds it's way through the fog and I become lost reliving moments.

Thanks for posting, it's good to reflect from time to time.

I've been a business traveler (1-2 weeks/month) for a number of years and recently began shuffling in stints of airbnb.

I must admit Airbnb cannot beat the convenience and mental simplicity of business hotels. Flight cancelled, check-in at midnight, parking, need an ironing board, want to be left alone - no problem.

I typically Airbnb on travel where I expect the workload to be light or operating on reasonable hours (not coming in at 1am every night). It's really an experience thing for me (akin to going backpacking/camping) which often turn into great dinner conversation with customers - they're always amused. I've met a number of great people (I think most people can be, and Airbnb provides the venue) and I highly recommend it - just be prepared to deal with sometimes awkward/interesting situations, but such is life!
