There’s a “make default at Apple” button in the card settings that I was able to use to accomplish that without copy/pasting. Weird they didn’t just ask during the setup process.

Odd, I was given an option to make it the default card in my Wallet, but I don’t recall an option to make it the payment method for my Apple ID.

I also don’t see anything magical here about how to add it to my Apple ID:

You change the setting in the Wallet app. Tap your Apple Card, then tap the 3 dots in the top right corner. Press the button labeled “Make Default at Apple”.

I looked there. I really don’t have that button. At this point I’ve manually copied the card info for both my Apple IDs but I don’t think I had that button at any point. Maybe it’s because I have separate IDs for iCloud and iTunes.

Did you scroll all the way down that page looking for the option? It’s hidden below the fold

It really doesn't appear for me. Really really. I've once again invoked the special:

    if (username == "js2") {
        return;
    }
Clause in the code base. Not a case of PEBKAC. Promise. I appreciate the pointer though.

I was trying to figure out how to do the same, and it magically appeared about 7 minutes after I was approved.

tl;dr Go to http://reportaproblem.apple.com/, sign in and pick the app that you want a refund for. Then fill out the questionnaire.

If you’re on T-Mobile, dial (not text) #662#. It will turn on scam block [1] which stops all calls that T-Mobile identifies as scams from making it to your phone or voicemail.

> powered only from the HDMI port

Looking at the marketing material, it’s clear Amazon is trying to make people think this and hope they’re not disappointed when they find out that, yes, they still have to plug it into the wall.

There’s only one tiny image on the product page [1] that shows the power cord coming out. Every other image is very careful to show it from an angle that makes it seem like the HDMI cable is the only cable.

There is text that mentions the power cable, but you have to scroll down pretty far (about 60% of the way down) before you’ll see it.

They did say to not enable Face ID if you have an "evil" twin, which is pretty jokey, but probably 100% true.

I wish I had been this decisive the last time I joined a team that was a bad fit.

You have to turn off two-step verification first.

You're thinking of two-step verification [1]. I believe getting rid of the recovery key is part of the "more streamlined user experience" offered by two-factor authentication.

My mortgage has been sold at least 4 times since I got it about 3 years ago. Each time, I get a letter from the old company and the new company. Hopefully, that's what happened here.

The first two words of the article are "In 2012" and I think that carries over to the paragraph you quoted.

Well, I would have expected to see "(2012)" in the summary on HN, then. But, yeah, I missed that.
