It WAS started earlier, math/rand/v2 was added in 2024 (Go 1.22)

I love it too, it’s a great way to keep the stdlib moving without actually breaking anything. Simple and efficient design.

It IS a simple format. And you can make a parser yourself very easily. Doesn’t mean that it will be the fastest or most memory efficient. Don’t confuse format and implementation

Agree with that, I like the idea of permissions for specific things like this but it’s way to hard to know what’s actually being asked and why.

If it quacks like the SS and waddles like the SS…

I mean, Bolsonaro is an actual crook, he’s accused of laundering billions (!!). The very fact he instantly fled the country is proof they were right confiscating and voiding his passportS. He’s not persecuted for his political opposition, he’s a criminal.

Every single politician is a crook. Take Janones, for example, the guy who set up "Lula's Army". He's admitted to the same "rachadinha" that people hold over Flávio's head.

> Janones admitiu a “rachadinha” em seu gabinete.

When you stack the courts with judges friendly to you, then it's obvious only your enemies are going to be judged, and that it isn't going to be a fair trial.

When you then order a seizure of your opponent's passports seven minutes after he loses an election against you, it's pretty difficult to interpret that as anything other than an attempt to put your opponent in jail for the crime of running against you.

The whole point of electing this guy was to impeach the out of control judges. The same judges who are now gunning for him. They will obviously act to make him regret ever challenging their power, so that nobody ever does it ever again.

Even the most radical extreme left wing party in Brazil, PCO, called it political persecution. Literal trotskyist communists called it political persecution...

> Every single politician is a crook

So what's your point? He shouldn't be judged for his crimes?

> When you then order a seizure of your opponent's passports seven minutes after he loses an election against you, it's pretty difficult to interpret that as anything other than an attempt to put your opponent in jail for the crime of running against you

Or because he's a rotten piece of shit and they knew he would flee the country, WHICH HE DID

> Even the most radical extreme left wing party in Brazil, PCO, called it political persecution

Do you have a source on that?

My point is the court is partial. Had he stayed, he would have been put on a trial presided by judges who are Lula's own allies, including his former lawyer. You can't possibly believe he'd get a fair trial.

The court is itself tainted by scandals and in no position to judge anybody, let alone their sworn enemies. The guy who signed the order to seize his passport is involved in the biggest scandal in the history of the Brazilian judiciary.

Impeaching these judges and holding them accountable was a big reason why millions of Brazilians voted for the right wing Bolsonaro is part of. They have every reason to go after him, it's literally personal.

> Do you have a source on that?

Yes.

If you’re fine using iTerm just use iTerm. In my case I used iTerm for years and kinda liked it, but not completely. I’d been looking for an alternative for years but couldn’t find one I like (Alacritty doesn’t support pane splitting, Wezterm has full code config which I hate, Kitty doesn’t look good on Mac, Terminal.app is dog slow…). Ghostty just fits my needs pretty much exactly.

"PO" not "Po" (I was wondering what Polonium was doing in here lol)

Whatever it is doing, it won't be doing it for very long ;-)

> phones that aren't resilient to drops out of the box

What year is it, 2012?

What's the value proposition compared to the iPhone Duo? Aren't they relatively similar now?

Less than half the price and less fragile, for people who often carry a bag or purse with them.

The iPad Mini has more screen real estate. The taskbar on the Duo eats up a noticeable portion.

It is just over a third of the starting price of the Duo

Screen won't kill itself

Can we also not forget that he did NOT get cheated? He lost the election, and is incapable of producing proof of wrongdoing because there aren’t any.

He’s a dangerous lunatic.

I don't think anyone here is claiming that he got cheated.

I feel like debating whether he even can run for a third term makes the premise that he got cheated on accepted. Pretty sure there’s some kind of manipulation in there to make people forget that he lost 2020

>I feel like debating whether he even can run for a third term makes the premise that he got cheated on accepted.

Only if the readers are incapable of understanding hypotheticals. Also, like Jtsummers said, I'm not even debating it.

I do worry a little for the posterity of it. "You got beat" is true. You haven't produced a shred of evidence otherwise, you ugly boil upon America.

Sorry, when I was talking about manipulation I was not implying that you specifically were trying to do that. I just feel when reading some media that the kind of "2020 election theft" bullshit gets less and less challenged every time it gets thrown in the air. Not saying you’re defending it, I’m just tired of Trump as a whole I guess…

I find that my attention gets drawn to the opposite phenomenon: it is very common for mainstream newspapers to call Trump's election fraud claims false right as they describe those claims. I mean sentences like "Trump falsely claimed that the election...". This always draws my attention because the same newspapers do not usually do this when public figures claim something false, so it sticks out like a sore thumb. I don't think the election was stolen from Trump, but when newspapers do this it makes me feel like they're treating me like an idiot who has to be verbally manipulated into thinking that the election wasn't stolen from Trump. Rather annoying.

I’d say there’s a difference between "claims" and "falsely claims", adding "falsely" when the claim has been debunked times and times is proper reporting.

> I feel like debating whether he even can run for a third term

hax0ron3 didn't debate it, though. They said, unequivocally, that Trump can't be president a third time. From the top comment in this thread:

>> he still clearly can't become President again

Where's the debate? It's certainly not in that comment.
