For AI to be properly integrated into businesses it would need to be enabled by people who would shortly after become irrelevant.

This may well remain a "true communism/socialism has never been tried" situation.

It would coincide with too many people not being able to buy gaming hardware though.

But also AI can just recreate games from gameplay videos.

It's words vs. action, and I couldn't care less about anyone's words.

And honor is in the action, dishonor in the words.

The root CA should have been revoked then.

If you need Docker to run PHP software you're beyond any help already.

Yeah, I really enjoyed messing with php.ini back in the day! Setting it juuuust right for every different project on my dear pet.

I barely use PHP these days, but Docker seems like a great place to put it.

One more level of isolation can't hurt for PHP.

Irrelevant. Public servants are to be held to a higher standard.

Does this include organizations accepting public funds in any way, shape, or form? Where do inalienable rights begin and your fetish for catching people taking too long to shit end?

Not enough room here to write out the manifesto but in short: it depends on the stakes and on how secure you can monitor the data. In general we never have enough resources, if we have just a little bit more more people will live [longer] and lives may be improved. A little bit of corruption will only ruin a few lives. A good scheme will kill millions. That they get away with it is not even half the problem, you end up encouraging repetition and eventually end up normalizing it. Securing the data properly is important or people become afraid to act when they should.

If you catch them early enough you might not even persecute, if the members of the organization act suspicious enough the next contract could go to someone else or you might discontinue on the spot. When someone proposes the bribe you get a notification that your employment is under review.

People tasked with enforcement can go straight to prison when they fail to arrange your hearing or your day in court.

Earnings to match the working conditions of course and the conditions should be clear from day one.

You can just use your old dual 512GB M3 Ultras until you get the M5s. Man, people always whine about something...

This comment has the unusual property of being applicable whether or not it's sarcasm!

O shit, I didn't even think of that. I've got a few of those kicking around, honestly I was just using them as doorstops at this point.

Frankly, I have the impression that doctors at large put as little care towards their patients’ health as us programmers do towards our software.

Sure, there are bad apples in medicine just like there are in tech. But knowing many doctors personally, reading this fills me with equal parts frustration at your cynicism and sadness for what they endure.

What's the difference for a physician today vs. 30 years ago? Among other things, today's physicians struggle because they're being crushed: continuously squeezed by the financialization of their hospital/practice, carrying larger debt, more time spent fighting the insurance machine just to get basic treatments approved. On top of all of that, they are less respected in general and often face outright hostility from patients... all while being paid relatively less than their predecessors.

The comparison rankles, obviously.

This can all be true yet people fighting for their lives often feel like they're getting ignored, dismissed, or treated like livestock by their doctors. It's hard to see your doctor as the victim when it's you or somebody you love bearing the cost of their shortcomings.

To your point, it's hard to imagine any human dealing with the conditions a lot of doctors face then showing up the way we want them to all day, every day. But how much suffering are patients supposed to absorb to subsidize the stress budget of their doctors?

I wouldn't go as far as drawing an analogy here, but it reminds me of debates surrounding police violence in high stress situations. Is there a higher standard when you're accountable for other peoples' lives? Are you off the hook or is it on you, and not the people you serve, to fight systemic and situational problems that make it hard for you to do your job well?

I'm not here to dismiss critiques, concerns, or fair observations. An inefficient, overfinancialized system is brutalizing all players. But to make such a comment about doctors "at large"? Everyone's experience is their own, but it's just perpetuating a state that I find wrong, (ironically?) unempathetic, and overall dismaying.

Building ivory castles and whatnot? ;)

Finding the right balance is crucial in everything we as humans do. If you lack in it, you should work on developing that skill in general.
