You don't have to use it. I don't use it. I still think it's really cool, and I've been thinking of trying to take ideas from it and integrate it into my own workflow. In particular, the session visualization tooling.
Seems like everyone is doing this now... Sonicare, Norelco... I get the cost cutting + simplifying international packaging aspect. Just pass it on to customers. At least Apple has the other excuse that users might prefer wireless charging, so if users already have that or need to go out and buy it, the included charger just gets thrown in a drawer if it ever makes it out of the box.
Pretty much every company milks their wealthier customers and it frees them up to be more competitive at the lower end. Also, if they charged a more reasonable amount, they would get backordered very quickly.
"Works on my machine" - a colleague's mug from back in the day. He was just being funny, but there's a bit of truth in every joke. Reproducibility was only occasionally a top concern for developers, and then github and other CI tools came along to offload that concern all together. Perhaps with the growing threat maintainers will start to care again. Github should just turn off publishing capabilities and force them to care.
Sometimes, but not nearly as reliably as a static analyzer. But I'm assuming the unstated point you are sarcastically implying is "you don't need SonarQube" - maybe you're trying to say something else.
F this BS. I will never send a single dime or packet to any company or politician that supports this. I will tell everyone I know to boycott their service or products.
The latest absurd power grab in the guise of protecting the children.
I'd probably check it out if it was actually called 'YAH Harness' and not [insert Chinese AI lab here] Harness
