In Australia, I have been unable to find _any_ dumb TV's over 40" for sale any more.
I've checked a variety of stores online and none offer them anymore.
I managed to pick up a 50" 4K TV from 'Kogan' a few years back and was hoping to get a second (ideally larger) one. But alas. That's not an option.
As alternatives. I believe it's possible to get sinage/display TV's which are still dumb (but much more expensive) and one could look at getting a huge 'computer monitor' as well.
Seconded this. I recieved one as well.
Speaking with customer support I got the following:
"Our team detected irregular logs relating to a small number of accounts, and whilst they are investigating the issue we have requested that everyone update their password to ensure account security. We do not have exact details on the irregularirites at this time I'm afriad!"
Further messages from them have told me that they will be updating everyone once they finish investigating the issue.
Concerning, but I do appreciate their proactive approach at least.
12ft.io does a great job of bypassing paywalls, which is needed because people want to avoid paying for the content they want to see. What's more, 12ft is basically an open CGI proxy server. The chances that it will be used to death without any efficient way to monetize it seems high.
FWIW I do think it's a great service and is very helpful when you only need to access one article from a site you'll never need/want a subscription for. But I can definitely see there being people taking advantage of it when they want to avoid subscribing to whatever service.
