As someone who has experienced the opposite effect I think the trick is to just finding passion in what you do and your hobbies. The more of a resource I am around my interests the easier it’s always been more me to make new friends with those same interests just by having something to talk about

So a maps app that helps you avoid flock cameras? That's pretty neat. its actually rather comforting to know I unintentionally avoid them with the route I take to and from work even though my zip code has over 300 cameras.


I’m curious how well the dynamic subagents work in practice compared with agents in other harnesses.

Coordination overhead and duplicated work are usually where these systems start to fall apart for me.

I recall how there were custom chips made for LLaMA for that make it super fast which is cool but am I wrong for feeling like that would slow down the release schedule of new frontier models? Couldn't tell from the article if these would be ASICs or more general purpose.


ASICs may be too slow to iterate. If we want to close the development loop faster, I think FPGAs are a way to do so. With everything moving so fast nowadays, by the time the ASICs are ready for production, they could be already outdated, so FPGAs could be a quick way to test some novel designs, with or without LLMs' help.


If the ASIC runs a model 100x better (faster, cheaper, less energy, etc.), it will remain competitive on any task for which frontier models don't improve as quickly. Any task for which current models are "good enough" arguably fall in this category. We just need to cross a threshold in terms of how many such tasks there are and their economic value. Also worth pointing out is that there's probably a lot of latent uses of LLMs, currently unexplored, that would be enabled specifically by a very low latency. Right now, I'd feel comfortable taking the risk.

Wasn't it announced that Anthropic is having their first profitable quarter right now in Q2? From what I've personally seen it's all driven by enterprise adoption.

Open source/foreign models are already way cheaper and will work just fine for most use cases but a lot of businesses are already pretty locked in to Claude, and with enterprise costing $240 a year at a 20 seat minimum it's a pretty big investment to make and won't be worth migrating unless the gains are significant.
