It’s not riskless, it’s just the benchmark that all active investors and their associated podcasters have to beat.

Active investors usually fall into the same fallacy where people all rate themselves as above average. Mathematically speaking a large portion of active investors have to do worse than average and simply stating FUD about averages won’t change that

ah yes, instead of giving students homework, have them serve in the military for a few years until they’re ready for college

Sure, why not? That's not the best option for everyone but worked out well for several people I know.

nothing like some killing to get you settled down.

It didn't work so well for elementary school students in Iran.

Oh come on, how is that related at all?

You don't think overfunding a gigantic army has any connection with said army committing war crimes all over the world?

So at the end of the day you still need an app… and maybe instead of spending tokens every time you want an app you just use a prebuilt one… :surprised-pikachu:

Depends.

If you just need a narrow subset of the functionality for now, might be cheaper in tokens to just vibe it than the attentional cost of searching for just the right software...let alone paying for it.

Why people bringing token prices ? With my Claude subscription I can do everything from building apps every day to doing room planning and science researches , for a fixed price. Software is not cheaper . Before you could argue oh but it’s a subsidy etc , in reality you can do same things with Chinese models just half a year away for also cost of coffee . It’s cheaper now than sales tax you pay for your saas

> Why people bringing token prices ?

Enterprises needs to pay for API, they cannot use subs (for various reasons). In work environment it’s a higher chance you will pay raw token prices than have a sub.

My example is not a narrow functionalist it’s a complex multi level problem that need several apps .

NO, you build a new one every time, or else you get the hose again.

Sure , I’ll share you my example I was doing home planning from a shitty plan I had from previous owner . Claude created that with a fraction on my quotas . Eg ~1 dollar . It converted a shitty drawing into 3d , modified the room I wanted , created a few options of visuals, and shopping list from my local store with budgets . Oh and yes it create a local html page for my problem it even created a name nook, not sure why .

With regular software I need an entire package of apps, a specially trained people , and a budget of at least $10k for the same service . Will my services be such a commodity very soon , sure .

Do I want to pay $10k now for manual software and people . Not really , what is the point ? Same way as accountant will not pay one day for the software , I will not pay adobe and designer today .

I think the fact that you vibe code your home explains that we have fundamentally different worldviews and aren't gonna agree on anything here

Maybe OP can explain why with unlimited tokens neither OAI nor Anthropic have any first party apps other than the main Claude/chatgpt apps

There are only so many rust migrations you can do, at some point you gotta ship something user visible which means you have to deal with people which means the code was never the bottleneck even in 2014

> If a ghost is close (nearest_ghost_distance small, " "within 2 steps), choose flee_ghost. Otherwise choose " "chase_dot to eat the nearest dot."

Dude, this is AI psychosis. Just ask the LLM to write you a program (“compile”) and then you can run it locally forever

That is literally what this does

They’re not fundamentally different at all. In fact the paper is using existing models as a backbone and just providing a shortcut between the two ends of the pipeline

Pass the blunt my guy

Maybe AI can help you read the article first

If we’re learning anything from the past 15 years it’s probably not to extrapolate AI progress in a straight line.

https://finance.yahoo.com/sectors/healthcare/articles/godfat...

Progress is spiky and not guaranteed. The capital costs have also ballooned to the point where the rate has to level out

> The capital costs have also ballooned to the point where the rate has to level out

That's a pretty bold use of "has to". None of the financing behind AI seems sane, yet it continues to defy rational expectations. Reminds me of the comment "the market can remain irrational longer than you can stay solvent". It's not the exact meaning but has the same feeling. The circular financing going on does not help anything either

The vibe coded crap fills the same niche as the consonant slop brands on Amazon
