Gotta do things that don't scale, chief. Granted, instead of just making some generic Show HN and posting to reddit, it could be a worthwhile to privately PM users who comment and seem quite interested.
You could also just go to some old posts (HN or reddit) that are relevant to your product and reach out to anyone who seems ideal customer.
It's easier said than done, but hey, now you (hopefully) have some initial users, all for $0.
The real question is "why is that?". Do blacks tend to get into more altercations with police, is it systemic racism, both?
Without further investigation, this graph can bait people into jumping to misinformed conclusions.
Furthermore, the site states:
> black Americans account for less than 13 percent of the population but they are shot and killed by the police at a rate that’s over twice as high as for white Americans.
Yet they also account for over 50% of crimes in the U.S [0]. Like I said, ask questions, don't just look at a graph and raise pitchforks.
> Without further investigation, this graph can bait people into jumping to misinformed conclusions.
Likewise with the data you've linked. Submission of data to the UCR database is completely voluntary and does not represent an accurate picture of crime in the United States:
> "The totals provided in this table reflect only those persons arrested by law enforcement agencies that provided race information to the UCR Program; therefore, the totals may not match those shown in other arrest tables for the nation." [0]
> "It is incumbent upon all data users to become as well educated as possible about how to understand and quantify the nature and extent of crime in the United States and in any of the more than 17,000 jurisdictions represented by law enforcement contributors to the UCR Program. Valid assessments are possible only with careful study and analysis of the various unique conditions affecting each local law enforcement jurisdiction." [1]
I.e., you can't expect to get any kind of meaningful analysis by dumping a table of raw, incomplete data into a thread.
I find his Tweets entertaining and I get a good laugh out of them. As for the anti-white thing, I'm just making an observation about something I found interesting.
I legitimately want to know what's up with Twitter allowing these comments. I find it weird cause it'd go without saying that hating any other minority would land you a ban or suspension.
I unfortunately don’t have a link on it but this is mainly because active recall is far better than just passive review for memory effect. Memories are like muscles: the more you struggle (without actually failing) the stronger the memory gets. Reading isn’t a struggle so the memories stay weak, paraphrasing and notes are thus much better or strengthening recall. SRS can take you a level higher than that and guarantee much longer term recall via repeated active recall
I don't know, I think p2p is more a meme. Sure, it has its use cases but for "muh decentralization of authority", I don't think the future will consist of p2p tech. Just look at BitChute and Steemit.
While I'm not familiar with BitChute, a large part of Steemit's issues boil down to their choice of consensus mechanism: delegated proof-of-stake (dPOS), rather than a fault with a p2p model generally. Many decentralized projects stay away from dPOS, as it can lead to the cartel-like structure that's currently plaguing the platform.
We're in a constant state of signalling. Think some book mentions that most of our actions are driven by our need to signal or convey something to parties.
So, I'd argue we are always "selling" ourselves in one way or another, both unconsciously and consciously.
This is so interesting that the two sides to this don’t seem to be able to engage very much. For me, too, the reflex is “Who cares? Why be so prescriptive and pushy about needing to sell (as if it’s humanity’s natural state)?” because that isn’t how I experience my life. But to others it seems to be just instinct.
Doom 2016 v Doom Eternal: same shit
Valorant: it's in beta so I'll give it some slack but it's pretty boring
Half Life: Alyx: a VR game. lol Valve. Much rather get a Source 2 update for CSGO
I dunno man, Valorant is pretty sick. Me and my friends play maybe 3-4 matches of competitive Valorant per day and we absolutely love it. Way better than CS:GO, though the maps aren't as good. And what's wrong with Alyx being a VR game?
