Eu price for the same model (french store) is 1159€ ... According to xe.com, current USD/EUR rate is 0.8599, so $999 => 859€. It seems to me that they've applied the inverse rate : 1159*0.8599 = 996. What am I missing there ?

It's usually something like the worst exchange rate in the last x months plus VAT.

Thanks, seems like I forgot to account for VAT in the french price.
