Why do you think that satellite to satellite routing will be particularly fast? There are a lot of hops, some satellites are moving relative to one another, and the satellites are power and bandwidth constrained. It sounds like a latency nightmare.
Consumer connections will use bent pipes. Satellite to satellite links are limited and will be mostly used by high paying customers like high frequency traders.
