To me, Scrum is kind of like someone packaged cargo culting and started selling it as a product. All of the routines and processes that some successful team had at one point, with none of the underlying understanding. There is a kernel of Lean in there, somewhere, though. The most recent incarnation is probably the DevOps-movement. I think the principles behind Lean are pretty solid, and understanding them and then applying them in forming how your team works is a genuinely good idea. Scrum is not.
